  • Hugs for everyone having a hard time or things. It's a difficult time of year for a lot of people, to the point that the time of year almost makes things seem worse.

Maria - the Grandparents Touch a Heart is looking good, I still haven't got round to framing mine yet, but its nice to see it done. What size frame did you use, as I think I may have to order one online now as not able to get out and don't trust DH to do it and get it how I want it.

    .

    Take care all xxx

hi it fitted perfectly in a 5x7 inch frame

Awww louise and shelly, I love your mice... are they Country Companions ones?

Mine isn't, it's a 'Woodland World' by DMC.

Don't know if this is of interest to any of you but WHSmith are having a mag subscription sale http://www.whsmithmagazines.co.uk/the-big-sale
They have 2 Cross stitch mags that cost £5 for 3 issues (don't forget to cancel when you need to)

I've done the same as Maria and can ;) the chart, it was in a World of Cross-stitching once upon a time.

I'm sorry this isn't really cross stitch related and I would be interested to hear from any of you who do knit and can offer me pointers. There is a knitting thread on here but it doesn't seem to move very fast or have many posters :(

I'm a beginner knitter. :o I also watch that thread. Here's my knitted projects so far:
    http://ravel.me/kezbabybabe/hdkbs (1st project)
    http://ravel.me/kezbabybabe/hjdvh (2nd project)
I'm really lucky cos my mum is still with me so she taught me to cast on and how to do the cable. But there are loads of knitting videos out there: http://www.knittinghelp.com/ (this also helps with specific type of stitches)
  • Help!

I have a question about Medeira Metallic no. 10 threads. :o I am trying to stitch the snowflake charts from The World of Cross-Stitching Issue 119 and it says two strands, but for the life of me I can't see the 'strands' from the metallic thread. I've taken what I thought was 2 strands, working on the usual 6 strands to a bit of thread, but I've ended up with 4 'strands' of gold instead.

Does anyone know if this is right or wrong? I don't want to run out of thread...

Hugs to those who need it..... Am glad you have the support of everyone on here.... You are a lovely bunch! :A

    Welshlassie any 'movement' yet??

Have been stitching over last week and weekend. We are not able to work when its cold due to the nature of our business, so all Mouseloft kits done and found frames in my local pound shop which were perfect for the two I am keeping, so up on my mantlepiece now. Have also done a robin and Christmas tree card. On top of that all my shopping is done and wrapped up! :j Getting quite festive!

I think its time to get back on the love poem chart.... Would like to get it done sometime next year....

    Hugs and best wishes xx

Nope nothing happening so far - in for a stretch and sweep tomorrow and they'll book an induction date - that was enough to get me going within 8 hours last time so fingers crossed. As long as I get to see DS's Christmas Concert at 2:50 tomorrow pm, I'm happy. :D

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear you are feeling really stressed 23rd spiral I agree with setting up a repayment plan you both agree with then she can have nothing to moan about.
welshlassie here's some labour inducing vibes coming your way and with all this snow and ice I predict they will arrive by about 5pm tomorrow:D

Have had another snow day fortunately I wasn't due to be at work so didn't have childcare issues but had to cancel my finishing off my christmas shopping due to freezing fog:eek: It was minus 14 today. Am fed up of it and am starting to feel bit down about it all. why can't it all bogger off?

Today I have made a "Frostie" costume for my son's play using stuff I had around the house as I couldn't get to the shops - he thinks its cool anyway. And i also finished backing my friends afhgan blanket which my mil stitched a year ago and her numpty husband got stuck in the pushchair wheels and ripped:eek: Have managed to hide the 2 huge holes with ribbon and some cross stitching done on interfacing. It looks lovely.

Knitting- I have just started doing this this year and am afraid that I am well and truly hooked by it, so much so that my cross stitch is taking a back seat at the moment as I have been making lots of scarves for Christmas presents. I am doing a cardigan for myself and have just got to the fronts where I have to insert pockets and am confused. Needed to see mil today for her help or could have got friend to help at sewing group last night but due to this weather have not been able to see either so may get my cross stitch out. Off to make tea now, chat later. Thrifty

    Hello Girls

Well I made it home last night, took a while but made it, just followed really slow traffic and acted like a fish. Tried to go out today but the car wouldn't start. Call the RAC but they were very busy with getting other cars out of ditches etc I let them be and took the day off. Called my boss - think she understood - will find out tomorrow. Spent this afternoon digging round car, eventually got it started and putting paper under tyres and carboard on windscreen and packed a shovel in it ready again for tomorrows attempt. Was annoyed when I did get home. I went into see a neighbour to let her know I was home as I called her from work to see if she needed anything. Her husband was very kind and cleared a space for me. As soon as he went into the house another neighbour from further up the road came and parked in my space. I had to park in a weird place and get stuck.

That is a whopper Louise, we have some hanging - look like swords.
Well I'm still hanging on, baby is now 3 days overdue.

Thinking of you lassie, hope all goes well, thinking of you.

Hubby doesn't go back to work till tomorrow. Will have to try and get in. If we didn't need the money I would say stick the job. Feel they are always picking on him for some reason.

Well I have defosted now. Off to make some dinner - feel like something warming. Better be better than the cassorole I made on Sunday - the beef was tough - beef chewing gum.

Kind wishes to all, keep warm and thanks for listening to my rambles, nice to know you have friends - you might not be close by but you are in here,

    sweetcarer ;)

I am really hoping that we don't get any more - my shopping trip is supposed to be on Thurs - my mum, aunt, sister and I go through to Glasgow for lunch and shopping, really don't want it cancelled!
