Hi just a quick post, will catch up later.
I sent my dolphind picture to be framed today and it's going to cost £16 (frame, mount backing and glass). It's 9.5 by 8 inches. Is this good value? I thought so.
Started my next project, the stocking. Making lots of progress, will post pic later or tomorrow.LBM 04/10:j

Hugs to all who need them.13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
Hugs for everyone having a hard time or things. It's a difficult time of year for a lot of people, to the point that the time of year almost makes things seem worse.
Maria - the Grandparents Touch a Heart is looking good, I still haven't got round to framing mine yet, but its nice to see it done. What size frame did you use, as I think I may have to order one online now as not able to get out and don't trust DH to do it and get it how I want it.
Everyone else is done some gorgeous work, it's nice to see everyone else work when I'm not able to get mine done.
Well I'm still hanging on, baby is now 3 days overdue. My friend who is 9 days ahead of me and was supposed to be induced today has just gone into hospital so hoping for newborn baby cuddles in the next day or so if ours doesn't put in an appearance.
As a result I'm struggling to get much stitching done as my concentration is quite poor as I'm so uncomfortable. Not expecting to get much stitching done at all over the next few weeks, probably until after the new year now.
I need to put some update pictures up, but can't find my camera cable at the moment, will try and hunt it out tomorrow.
Take care all xxx0 -
Thank you so very much everyone. I'm not usually one for talking about my problems, that's usually part of the problem - i interalise too much. i bumped into a friend on the street today, she asked how i was, i said fine. she asked 'really?' and i almost broke down. just blurted all that out. and then how i had to leave the shop without getting any shopping as i saw the advent choccies and was so upset that mum made a big fuss that she'd get me a calendar this year and then totally forgot. i'm 30, it shouldnt matter. it's so silly. but it's just another let down from my mum.
happily she totally understood i needed to let it out and hugged me. just like you lovely lot have done. can't actually thank you enough right now.Glad your hubby advised you to stitch - we could have told you that:D:D
actually i think you did. i remembered all the times we've all said how much it helps and actually put it into active practice at the moment it was first needed. humm, Cross Stitch as a Band Aid.:)sweetcarer wrote: »Things here are getting worse. Hubby got told he is getting points for taking time off for my grans death and missing work because of snow. They say if he does it again he will be on a warning.
Cross stitch is brilliant - when I stitch I go into a world of my own and forget everything around me.
sweetcarer, weren't they threatening him with similar back in the spring? most employerrs allow compassionate leave. that's so very not fair.
I hope you get / got home?
humm, maybe it's kinda like meditation. (except for me when random backstitch confuses me).
welshlassie - good luck to you. take care xbikerchick1066 wrote: »H2b on nights tonight and tomorrow so plenty of time to stitch whilst watching Phil & Kirsties Christmas thingymajig :-)
oh Thank You, i'd forgotten! i should be just in time.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
well it doesnt look like we'll be in before xmas, the house will need too much work that we didnt know about.
i didnt go to work today. couldnt face it. luckily i'm flexible, i'll have to work extra next week. whoppie.
on the plus side, i just sat and stitched this morning. i gave myself permission to. i completed my fiance's xmas card and i guess because something had gone right, i even managed to clean the kitchen and cook dinner. usually on a day when i feel like this, nothing at all gets done. Definately better. still feel like a damp sponge, all wrung out and limp, but at least i've something to show for the day.
possibly my fastest ever piece of cross stitch! I bought CrossStitcher 234, purple with tag gift, on Saturday afternoon and had finished it by this morning, (monday), though i didnt stitch all the time of course. i didnt have the silver light effect threads or anything like it so i just used some old anchor silver thread and i think it works ok. doing the antlers was hard, but has given me confidence to go back to the xmas card that also has random non-edgeing backstitch.
take care out there in the cold. keep warm and keep stitching. i'll certainly try to.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. Am soooo jealous of everyone's gorgeous stitching - am slogging slowly through my christmas one but the camera lead is awol again.
Dh has gone to watch liverpool play with one of the clients from work tonight - they get free seats and taxis to and from the game - and he gets paid for this!
My olds have been told they will be out of their house for about 6 months cos the floor coverings, ceilings, plaster and electrics all need replacing and probably the kitchen too. A team will come later on this week or next to pack up anything salvageable to take to storage and they are trying to find them accomodation asap (they are in a hotel atm)
Am trying to get loads of poopy old paperwork done for school so I can have some real time off over Chirstmas but is slow going - I'm blaming the cold.
Sorry if nearly all my posts are not about stitching atm will try harder next time:pMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
