Thank you all for your kind wishes, it is nice to know you are not alone.

The computer is still kaput - it is our main laptop. It was the one the insurance company fixed, they said they will look at it again. The one I am using just now is a very old one - goes very slow and doesn't load up some webpages. But I have to be content it is better than nothing.

Been trying to tidy up today - house is like a coup. I just don't have the inclination to do much these days. Just work and sleep. Got a wee chuckle when I went into the hall cupboard. The cat needed more dry food - keep so much in a tuperware in kitchen rest in bag in hall. I had been conerned she wasn't eatting much. So I got the bag and thought that feels light - only got it a couple of weeks ago. Then I noticed she had chewed through it and had been helping herself. Little miss innocent when I confronted her with it.

Not done much sewing. Been watching the termoter I brought home from work to check the heating. When it is set at 18c the termoter says 17c but when heating is at 21c the termoter says 18c, so keeping an eye on it. House doesn't feel so cold tho. Done some washing - badly overdue - so radiators have to be covered up.

Well this week I have my works christmas do on Saturday and on the 29th I have been invited to a school reunion - not seen alot of them since we left school nearly 20 years. Don't know what to wear to either event. Feel such an elephant. Hubby says I look good but he is biased. Can't afford to get my hair done - not had it done for a long time - saves money.

Well better get on with some work - making a nice beef cassorole for dinner - in the mood for comfort food.

Thank you all for being there - you mean more than you know.

Kind wishes, keep warm, happy stitching

    sweetcarer ;)

Speaking of which, it would probably be a good idea to make two or three of you who are members of the Flickr Group, Admins.

That would mean that you could accept member invites and generally sort the group stuff.

Any volunteers or shall I just wield my Moderator button and appoint some? :D

:j i could too if you'd like. i'm on flickr about every other day what with the swaps im part of or managing works account too.

sweetcarer - :A you're fantastic too! what a naughty kitty!
oh, i brought a themormether and humidity thing home from work, borrowed of course, and started a thread on old school about it - my bathroom is around 7degrees on a good day.. down to 5.1 at night when the heatings off! can't justify having more heating on and the bathroom is the coldest room. oh well.

How's everyone's stitching coming along this weekend?

I haven't done a single stitch since Thursday and I'm getting withdrawals! My thread heaven has arrived and I'm itching to try it out.

Kez. The sampler looks great! Hope you feel better soon.

    Welldone on finishing it :)

http://www.flickr.com/groups/1577253@N21 is the link. You need to apply to join, and Mags will accept you. we need photos :)

As for the gridding, I do, but I use nylon thread, over every 2 holes, so 2 over, 2 under. If you use a pen, I presume you use a ruler and mark the corner of each 10x10 hole. Someone else can confirm.

Do you have no stash or UFOs :( I feel for you x You may find some thing for a couple of ££ on ebay?

no stitching for me this weekend. it has been a busy one. roll on the next :rotfl:

did a santa run today - so much fun !! :j

After the run, I took the opportunity to do a bit of shopping and treated myself to Cross Stitch Gold :D and three knitting magazines :D I had a voucher so effectively got four magazines for the price of three :j i also looked at cross stitch collection but there was nothing inside that appealed.:(

The needlecraft/haberdashery shop I mentioned about has opened. Its tiny and the range of cross stitch very limited but they sell dmc threads so will be useful if I need a colour *urgently*. I don't mean to be a bah humbug but it will be interesting to see how long they stay - the cross stitch kits were very expensive - why would you buy from a shop when the range is so small and so pricey when you can get everything but the kitchen sink on se$ and $o! They sell other needlecraft bits so useful to have I guess but I do wish it was much bigger and cheaper ! I suppose as I have mentioned above - there isn't the market for high street needlecraft shops anymore with everything being so readily available on the web and at much more reasonable prices. I was looking at Hob$ycraf% online the other day and although they have their cross stitch kits three for two - if you bought just the one kit, you could be paying nearly £20 more compared to $ew and $o !!

finally I just wanted to send big hugs to chickywiggle. What a predicament. Its very true that you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family.

I upset a few family members earlier in the year when I turned down an invite for a big birthday bash. I was suffering a bout of depression at the time and really didn't feel up to it. Not only that but I couldn't afford a new dress and it was in a nice hotel so the drinks would have been expensive and it would have involved 2 taxi fares each way  I think I upset the host but it was all too much for me. They didn't know the reason why I didn't go, I just said I couldn't make it and my OH didn't go either - a black sheep in the family moment but I knew I wouldn't enjoy it and knew it would make me unhappy if I went. Ramble Ramble I go ! sorry ! I suppose what I am saying is you must do what is best for you and your OH and your little one and little one to be :o

It has an internal size of 31.2cm x 36.2cm . I expect that the frame price could change depending on which style you chose.

Postage was about £8, as it came by parcel force and was in a good sized box.
