Hi all - have just had a skim of the posts, will do replies properly tomorrow, just haven't felt much like typing the last couple of days. I am fine though, just been quietly working away on my coasters and spending some time with the family. :)

I will also email the giraffe chart tomorrow to those who want it.

  • Did a bit of stitching myself yesterday (not a lot though, so I'm hoping to do more today).
I also sorted out the charts that I received for my Needlecraft Magic, which only makes me want to do some of the projects... :o

Hi ladies, firstly sorry to hear your sad news Sweetcarer & Louise, i hope you are coping ok. Not quite the same but i've had a bad week too, my dog aged 13 has been diagnosed with inoperable liver tumors. She is on steroids and i'm hoping for a miracle :(

Louise, love the europe map, glad you beat your target, does hubby like it?

Sorry to hear that :( (((hugs)))

Yes, hubby likes the map, couldn't believe I completed it in time - no idea where it's going though :)
does anyone else have needle-eating monsters living in their house??? twice this week i have put my work down (once in its bag once on the bed) and picked it up to find the needle has vanished and doesn't appear to be ANYWHERE!!!!!

Yeah I think I have them as well...:rotfl:

hi everyone. no stitcing done by me, have had a really aweful week. you know i told you about a friends funeral, 39 and dropped with a heart attack? well, after his wake a very dear friend had a very serious fall down some stairs / over a bannister and has been in a coma in hospital with a cracked skull, cranial bleeding and damage to both eyes. he's had an operation to remove a blood clot and reduce swelling. I now know the meaning of being sick with worry.

    .

omg that's awful, I hope he pulls through soon (((hugs)))) :(

Oh dear 23rdspiral, not good news at all...hope things improve soon. (((((Hugs))))) to you and your friend.

Not done an awful lot of stitching lately, but I am in the midst of picture framing!!! I have done one of my Kats By Kelly pictures, and have neary finished another. I have yet to do the Silhouettes one for my dad...then back to the stitching...loads of coasters to get through!!

I'll post piccies after the weekend.

Have a great weekend...with this weather I think the best thing to do is stay in and stitch!! :D

Looks forward to seeing your pics x What designs are you plannign for the coasters? I looked through loads of mags but didn't find all that many suitable sized designs
Sorry to hear the sad news that people have been having over the last week or so, my great uncle also died last Sunday, he'd been poorly for a while, so it was a relief to some extent, but still very sad.

Sorry to hear of your loss (((hugs))) :(

There's an awful lot of sad stuff going on right now - (((hugs))) to everyone who needs them and here's hoping the start of the new month will bring happier times xxx

thanks everyone for your well wishes. thankfully he's coming round, and recognises an old friend, so we are hopeful.

Louise - how did you do the treads in the 3rd cosater? they look so realistic.

That's a positive sign - hopefully he will make a good recovery xxx

A length of thread is wrapped around a piece of cardboard 1,5cm wide a few times, then you slide it off and use the black thread to hold the mini 'skein' in place - it's helluva fiddly though :rotfl:

braved the weather today and went into town with my OH. he treated me to lunch :T and I got a lovely 15 tog duvet in argo$ at half price plus a further £2.50 off as used necta points :j if the weather stays cold then it will be hide under the duvet and stitch stitch stitch ! only downside to the day was bus didn't turn up on the way home so had an hour's wait in the cold :( never-mind. a coffee and a little tipple warmed me up :D

Whilst in town, I also noticed that there is a new haberdashery shop opening. Hope they will be selling cross stitch stuff.:j

haven't done much stitching this weekend and next weekend just as busy but have my box of projects all lined up and if does indeed prove to be a cold hard winter then I won't be venturing far from my sofa and might even start on next year's xmas projects :o

hugs to all who need them :grouphug:
  • Smart thinking flat eric. Think i'll get a small box of projects together then i'll be well happy if it snows and i can't get out.
