Hugs to both Louise and sweetcarer, I'm thinking of u both and ur families at this sad time. We're all here if u wanna chat.

Louise - ur map looks fab, well done for getting it done, but to b honest none of us had any doubt in u finishing :)
Ellie - well done for getting Santa framed, nice and cheap too. I hope u cherish him and enjoy him, it shows how strong u r and after all this is your new beginning :)

Well I am useless at this challenge lark :( I have absolutely no chance of finishing my dictionary of homes, I'm doing about 1 house a week!! I have DS's 1st parents evening tonight, might finish off house #4 tonight, only back stitch to go on that one, then hopefully I can have a full weekend of stitching (kids allowing that is!) I will post a pic tomorrow now as the light in here is terrible!

    Happy stitching all x

Aww Sammr85, it's not about completing everything all at once, you'll complete your challenge in good time. I would say that doing a house a week is really good going, sounds like it's more progress than I would be able to manage each week.

Keep at it and you'll finish it eventually. :T

Btw - who was looking for a giraffe design?? Did you find one? I found a lovely one in an old mag with a baby giraffe lying down and the mothers head reaching down to it.

It was me, Thanks to a very kind nudge I have started on this: http://www.cross-stitch-corner.co.uk/giraffe-mother--baby-378-p.asp but the design that you found sounds lovely too.

Hi ladies, firstly sorry to hear your sad news Sweetcarer & Louise, i hope you are coping ok. Not quite the same but i've had a bad week too, my dog aged 13 has been diagnosed with inoperable liver tumors. She is on steroids and i'm hoping for a miracle :(

Right back to stitching, i've completed 1 xmas card and on my way through another, i will post some pics soon. Only problem is trying to find aperture cards to fit the designs, i think it will be easier to buy A4 card and cut my own apertures :)

Louise, love the europe map, glad you beat your target, does hubby like it?

Congrats to Louise for finishing the map. Looks great.

I'm sorry for everyone's losses. My dog died last month and although it's not the same as losing a person I miss her very much.

I've done a lot of the background for the rose this week. I've been visiting family in North Lincs and we got back on Wed after travelling for nine hours! The trip normally takes four! Still I had plenty of time to stitch in the car :D which I've never done before. I can't read in the car as it gives me a headache but I can sew, it's weird.

Have a good weekend everyone and take care in the snow.

i find when i have this situation i either cut around the design with pinking shears or fray the edges then put them onto the front of a normal card with double sided sticky tape.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

  • does anyone else have needle-eating monsters living in their house??? twice this week i have put my work down (once in its bag once on the bed) and picked it up to find the needle has vanished and doesn't appear to be ANYWHERE!!!!!

  • I lost my favourite needle this week (yup sad, I know!) But it's longer than a short one, but not as long as a long one.. its thin, it's strong, and it's slides through rather than sticking...

Ho well no idea where it's gone. The annoying thing is I can't remember where I found the little gem :(

Sorry about everyone's sad news and losses this week.

Here's to a weekend of stitching (just in the name of keeping warm of course!)
