before doing any more i'll chart up how many squares can actually fit in the circle. Who did them last week? Ali? Abi? i can't remember... anyway they looked awesome, but were close to the edge if i remember right. EDIT: it was AB7167 way back on page 278, here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=38466560&postcount=5554
Louise - so sorry to hear your news. littlemisschocolate - that is good advice. it was a friends funeral yesterday, though i couldnt go as it was a few hundred miles away. 39 and struck down instantly with a heart attack out of the blue. what a rotten week.
Yup it was me, and they were very tight - I did the first one which didn't really fit, but looked OK with the blanket stitch, then I chose the green fern which didn't matter so much. I've just done my third one, and I have to confess I used a 16ct from my stash instead of the 14ct supplied. Very frustrating. Its the second month in a row that the kit has been substandard quality and is rapidly makin me consider stopping my subscription. We'll see what they come up with this month...

Sorry to hear your sad news Louise and sweecarer - our thoughts are with you and your families x
Have been stitching a bit this week, and got half of a christmas one done! And even more lovely is I'm off to the Harrogate knitting and stitching show on Saturday, and have an ickle bit of money to spend (woohoo). Anyone else going this year? Am meeting up with my stitch & b*tch friends, they are all staying over but dh is working at 7 the next morning so I 'm coming home - but might manage to stay there and go for an evening meal with them, depending on the weather!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Woo, I managed to sit down last night and get some proper stitching done, as I did an early shift at work, so my update picture next week should be pretty good.0

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Sweetcarer and Louise

sweetcarer wrote: »Thinking of past - does anyone have issue 1 of a sewing magazine - think it was for all stitching. It had a kind of astrology picture in it for tapestry. Can't mind name of magazine but I remember it was issue one. Even if someone has the name of the magazine I can maybe try and trace it. We got a fleece with a similar design and I would love to do the pattern to match it.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?23rdspiral wrote: »sweet carerer - that mag rings a bell, i'll take a looksie, think i might have bought one that sounds like that from a craft shop owner's clearance sale. it was number 1 of something and had something astrological - unless i'm mixing up two mags...
Did you find out anything?littlemisschocolate wrote: »Hugs to Sweetcareer and Louise, I hope that you've got a good network of family and friends to support you through this difficult time. And please, don't bottle up any grief that you may have; I did that when my gramps and gran died and 6 months later was signed off work for two months with depression.
I guess I was lucky boss sent me home day after I found out. But then said I don't know what the protocol is. I am taking the day of the funeral off - if she doesn't give me it I would will walk even if we are in a busy period and in middle of takeover of contracts. She can be "funny" at times - she doesn't like it when I have to take time off for medical appointments - always asks can I not do them when I am off or after work - not easy when I have my annual check up for diabetes.
Pondering what to do next sewing wise. I have a load of magazines to sort at my parents that were saved from fire. I should sort them and maybe do the free kits in them - there is quite a few (dozen).
Love and kind wishes to all

I need to sort through the last twenty years of charts from magazines, as my tastes have changed so much, I know half of them are no use anymore. I'm looking for something to go above the arch in the kitchen. I've found this today
but going to rummage about first and see if I've already got something similar.

Well I have been working on a couple of coasters so far - found a cute christmas scene of mice around a fireplace from an old mag so will do that in the run up to Christmas, I like to do festive things in Dec to keep me in the mood.
Nothing planned for tonight - making chicken balmoral for dinner (hubby's favourite - chicken stuffed with haggis with pepper sauce) then got the whole evening to myself to stitch - the fur throw is coming out and I aint going to move except for the loo or to make another cuppa....;)
Btw - who was looking for a giraffe design?? Did you find one? I found a lovely one in an old mag with a baby giraffe lying down and the mothers head reaching down to it.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. ALSO they sent me an entire skein of Anchor black - wahoooo.
Harry Potter this afternoon then Prezzo for tea..... then gonna curl up on the sofa and stitch, I've still a LOT to do before the end of the month and I MUST start chrstmas cards on 1st december to stand any chance of getting them finished.
