Louise and Sweetcarer - I'm so sorry to hear your news. There are quite a few of us going through really tough times at the moment. I hope that you have good friends around you and also that you remember that we on here are all here for you.0

Oh dear Louise and Sweetcarer, (((((hugs))))) to you both at this sad time.
Well done Louise on completing your latest project, you don't have stitch fast!!
Another question about thread heaven.....how many lengths of thread do you run through the TH at a time? Can you run a few through together or is it best to run each individual length through just before you use it?
Well, very pleased to report I have managed to get some stitching done!!! :j My sinusitis is beginning to clear (so it feels like I have a cold...dripping everywhere...but you don't want to know that!), so I can wear my glasses.:j
I finished my second Kats by Kelly picture on Monday and an storming through a coaster I am making for my BIL. Only 6 more coasters and a couple more picture to do for Xmas!:eek:
At least I have the Canada ones finished. Will post piccies once they are washed and pressed...and even framed if I get my a**e into gear this week! I want to get the Canadian ones posted by the end of the week...so quite a bit of work to do.
Have a great day stitching...though I am about to [STRIKE]make [/STRIKE] ask DS2 to move things out of the greenhouse so I can get some of my plants inside ...it's sooo cold, and going to get colder!!!

Well done Louise, we knew you could do it :j
Hugs to both you and Sweetcarer, I am sorry for the losses you have both had this week xx
t4mof. Nice progress on George. I love the Mr Men!
Thanks for the TH advice Keiss. I had kind of thought that's what I would do, one thread at a time because as you say I wouldn't want the wax either wearing off or transfering to other surfaces.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Afternoon everyone,
Hugs to Sweetcareer and Louise, I hope that you've got a good network of family and friends to support you through this difficult time. And please, don't bottle up any grief that you may have; I did that when my gramps and gran died and 6 months later was signed off work for two months with depression.
Sorry not been around much, had lots going on. The Robins are coming along very slowly and more importantly I've finally got my head round the Bothy Thead Chart system!I'll attempt to upload a picture sooner rather than later.
Everyone#s work is looking lovely as always and gives me inspiration in the quiet moments at work to look for my next project. Possibly another Bothy Threads Dictionary of Gardens for my dad but decisions decision!!
Sending lots of lovea nd hugs to all that need them.

yep it's 14 acrossHave you used the fabric provided in the kit? If not then is your fabric a different stitch count than the stuff in the kit? That's the only suggestion I can think of...
thanks cazmcf for looking... i'm even more puzzled now! i was kinda hoping i'd had a super dyslexic moment and was simply counting wrong again and again. eiliep - thanks, but i definately used the aieda that came in the kit. i had friends round when i got it out and know i didnt go get more from the cupboard.
before doing any more i'll chart up how many squares can actually fit in the circle. Who did them last week? Ali? Abi? i can't remember... anyway they looked awesome, but were close to the edge if i remember right. EDIT: it was AB7167 way back on page 278, here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=38466560&postcount=5554
Louise - so sorry to hear your news. littlemisschocolate - that is good advice. it was a friends funeral yesterday, though i couldnt go as it was a few hundred miles away. 39 and struck down instantly with a heart attack out of the blue. what a rotten week.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. I just framed Santa. I didn't think I could afford to do it this year but the nice man at my local market said that as it was a standard size frame (i.e. he didn't need to make one specially) he could sell me the frame for £8 and the mount for £3 if I put it all together myself. He doesn't charge much for putting it together but I wanted to lace Santa in rather than use glue so I had to do it myself anyway. It's all done now and looking fab, I'll take a picture and post it soon.
If anyone is in the Coventry area then I highly reccomend the frame man in Coventry market. He is great and always is loads cheaper than anywhere else.0 -
Hi
I have already posted this on the vouchers board, but then found this thread and thought you folks may be interested. After searching around the internet I found that this was by far the cheapest for Bothy Threads kits. I am currently working my way through the 'Gorjuss' range. Here is my previous post:
Be gentle with me, this is the first time I've posted!
Just ordered some cross stitch kits from Very Crafty (sorry can't post a link) . Was given a discount code for £2 off next order. My friend has successfully used it too - seems to be open to everyone. As the code suggests, use by 31st Dec.
Code: DEC31
Some really nice stuff on the site - great for Christmas pressies! :santa2:0 -

ELLIEP fab news re your frame. Its so nice when you find someone who actually cares about your purchase and ensures you get a good deal and are happy. look forward to see pic. :j
I was going to buy the new issue of Cross Stitch Crazy today but it was packaged up in $miths so I couldn't have a nose and thus left it on the shelf. I was tempted by the country companions design on the front - I wouldn't have stitched the whole design but would have stitched the hedgehogs separately perhaps to make small cards. I've bought Cross Stitch Crazy a few times recently and I have been really disappointed. I can't put my finger on why - but it just leaves me feeling cheated for want of a better word ?
Ive just started the snowman under the umbrella design that was featured in this month's cross stitcher - the Margaret Sherry one.I'm stitching it on green aida. Ive also dug out some of my old xmas cross stitch mags and will be looking through to see if there are any quick stitch xmas designs I can do for last minute cards ! or start for xmas 2011 :rotfl:
Whilst on the subject of xmas, I found a santa cross stitch I must have stitched years ago ! as the back is very very messy ! anyway, the santa is only small and was I think, a free kit given away with Cross Stitch Card Shop. its santa carrying a sack with the words merry christmas (merry at the top) christmas at the bottom) and xmas trees either side of santa. If you have this kit or even the magazine, can you tell me if santa has eyesbecause it looks like its finished but santa has no eyes ! this might be because a french knot was used (which I can't do) so probably intended to add a seed bead and never got round to it but I don't know what I have done with the chart to check !!
