Louise. Thanks!
Your map is coming along great. I reckon you will be finished well before the end of November.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi All,
I've been away at my mother's this weekend, however while I was away I finished the following:
Will be made into a card, but the card that came with the kit was a bit too small, so will need the hole cutting a bit bigger. This kit was 12 years old!
Another one here that was a birthday/christmas (can't remember which) birthday present. It's a starter kit on 10ct aida! So took me a day:
Other things I did while I was on my holiday, was to finally sew my Old Friends Brighten Our Days cushion with the Sewing Machine I bought from Lidl for £59.99 (They are selling the same sewing machine again this week in my local store)
(Just need stuffing and to sew up the bottom of the cushion.
The other thing I figured out with my sewing maching was to use it to sew my next project to my scroll frame. I pinned it in place and then ran a straight stitch along the edge and it's worked a treat, both sides are well held and even.
My next project is a Piglet Cushion (yes back to Winnie the Pooh designs)I'll have to post a picture when I get home, as I can't find it online.
Hugs to everyone, whatever you are doing.
- Kerry

that's kinda what i was thinking. it's too far to pop back but i'll go again in a month or so so will make it up. thanks!
oh, i'm loving how you've done your doves. they look MUCH better slightly stuffed and the blanket stitch is perfect. :T :T :T
i havent opened the pack yet; are the istructions to glue them? i guess if so then they are just keeping the project more simple as some Xstitchers might not want to do other forms of sewing or have the fill fibre to hand? (i might just have to do the same as you, if you dont mind?)
By all means do as I have done - they look better in real life that they do in the photo. And yes, I think the instructions were to glue - I can understand why they want to keep it simple, but actually I find gluing felt makes it look a bit odd, especially as the felt is pretty thin
- you'll get little hard patches where the glue is. Blanket stitch works well, although I can imagine possible cross legged stitch along the edge would look OK as well. My freehand embroidery is a bit rusty, so I stuck to something I knew I could do! The yellow is just from my stash. Am just trying to work our what kind of ribbon to use for hanging - I don't have anything useful, but am off to John Lewis tomorrow so will have a look there. They've just opened a new shop in Swindon, so am going after work with a friend while OH picks up kids from childminder and puts them to bed. It'll be the first time he's done bedtime with 2 on his own (baby is 8 months) - bless him for offering and letting me go shopping on my own. It's open until 8pm, then we're going for a pizza after. My night on the town ho ho ho...

Forgot to mention about how I stash my stuff:
1 Sewing box, this carries the little bits and bobs (like needles, little cross-stitch kits, my spare wool)
1 thread sorter, with threads on bobbins, I don't have too many at the moment.
Needlecraft Magics and other cross-stitch mags go in the bookcase on one shelf and the other stuff above it on another shelf.
Here's the next project:

Thanks everyone for your ideas on how you store your things. I'll definitely be get a thread sorter of some description as although I thought I didn't have that much I keep finding stashes all over the place as we tidy up ready for baby to arrive. In the course of my tidying I managed to find another 2 UFO's from about 10+ years ago. Some dolphins that just need the backstitiching doing and a hardly started Winnie the Pooh and friends around a tree kit that if I recall correctly I stitched wrong and got bored, so will probably require some unpicking before it can be finished, but I have too many other things that need starting and finishing before I can get to that.0
