Well, I was very well behaved. Did a whole load of tidying and found a v v v old UFO - a Noah's Ark birth sampler. Have a baby to stitch for due 2nd April so will make that my challenge (I was being over ambitious with size as usual and it is mahoosive) - but probably about 50% complete, so realistic challenge I think...

Can I have an official number now I have an official challenge please :-)
I've done this one! I really enjoyed it, I used a scroll frame for mine and it went quite quickly, here it is for you to see:

I don't know if you can read the description, but I started this when the person was 12 weeks pregnant and it was finished 30th Nov, 12 days after little one was born, so I'm sure someone could figure out how long that was... :o

ab7167. I knew just by seeing the start of your Ark that it was going to be soooo cute and looking at Kezs link I wasn't wrong, it's so adorable.

Mags. I adore those Santas. Could I please have a nudge? :A

    Thanks

Hi guys not done much cross stitch lately, I did make my race car card for my granda's birthday, he loved it and showed it to everyone where he lives :) I'm just making a start on the CS christmas cards, they are going to look great better than the usual shop bought rubbish, i will post some photos once completed.

Czar is on hold for the moment, still not done much on it, oh that reminds me, Shelly did you manage to mark some black aida with the pencil? If you did can you see if it washes off in cold water, i'm too scared to wash my CS in hot water :rotfl: If it comes off ok i'll buy one as i think it may help me speed up on it.

I really must catch up on this thread, i think i'm at least 50 pages behind :(

Hi everybody. I haven't done any stitching in a week I've been so busy! I've had to do a presentation for a job interview on Thursday:eek: so I've been working on that every spare minute. Was anyone else affected by the tube strike? I saw Frankie Boyle at Hammersmith Apollo on Wednesday. Getting there was no problem but they closed the bakerloo line entirely on the way home so I didn't get home until past one in the morning

Sweetcarer your cat is gorgeous. My cat always wants to sit on my lap when I cross stitch which is funny because if I'm not stitching he doesn't want to know. He also loves sitting on my charts. He's been good with the fireworks though.

ab7167 I LOVE the noah's ark piece. So cute!

Bubbles I like those pictures can I ask where they are from?

Have a good weekend everyone. Enjoy the fireworks.

Yeah I did, posted about it but if you are 50 pages behind you haven't read it yet :rotfl:

Here's what I posted on the 1st Nov.....

*Remembered this morning to rinse a piece of the black fabric that I marked with the white pencil on Tues 19 oct.
I let it soak for a min or 2 in cold water then swished it about a bit. The white dots did seem to fade a little but you could still see them, they only disappeared completely when I rubbed them with a fingertip.*

As it's been nearly a week I can rinse another piece this week if you would like?
Are your stitches covering well? I am wondering if there will be a need to rinse at all if the stitches give good coverage. The pencil is quite soft so you only really need to dot the fabric and you have your mark.

Not done any stitching this week - was at the fireworks last night which is my usual stitching night and had parents evenings as well this week.

Dh is away all weekend so am planning to shove kids in bed early to try and get some done - fillmore, quilt squares are nearly done and need to get finished this weekend cos I am dying to start something new from the vast collection.

Wow - I have a lot of work to do! Nowhere near my estimate of 50% complete.... But it looks amazing, I hope mine looks that good. Annoyingly, the first step is to sew it onto my frame, as I have an old style one with the fabric attachments. Would love a snap on one, but kids have got to be fed...

Won't get much done this weekend, my Mum is visiting - which is a fabulous reason for getting nothing done, but still... Will attempt to get it sewn onto frame at the very least.

Have completed the countries on the map (well apart from Iceland but that's way over the other side so can wait lol) and got 2 flags completed last night. :)

Fairly straightforward from here on, just blocks of colour.

Bubbles - I really like those, the first one is my favourite, and it seems a little more masuline in design than the other two iyswim?

Mags_cat - that Santa didn't take long at all! I really like those designs, they will make a beautiful set :D

Elle1267 - I am sooo jealous of you going to see Frankie Boyle!! I woudl gladly put up with a tube strike afterwards to see him on stage lol
