Well you won't know till you give it a go!
You can't really cut them out wonky anyway, as long as you leave a full strip around the design (follow the same line of holes) and use a pair of sharp, pointed end scissors you can't go far wrong.
Perforated paper is even easier to cut through, you should maybe start with one of those just to give yourself some confidence
When I leave a full strip around the design do I cut to the edge of the holes so I get a nice straight finish or cut through the centre of the holes (but a strip of holes away) so I end up with a kind of patterned edge?
Thanks!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Yay! Thank you for that, elliep, shelly and kezbabybabe
I'll work on trying to get them a bit smaller next time....oops!
Anyway - this is what I'm working on at the moment. I've had this kit for :mumblemumble: fifteen years :mumblemumble: and only finished three out of nine Santas. They make up into little tree decorations, backed with gold paper and with a hanging loop. I'm onto Santa four, though I suspect they won't all be ready for this year's tree...:rotfl:
They are STUNNING, would you mind telling me if they were in a kit or a chart book, I'd love to do them for Christmas cards (well, may next Christmas !!)

Linda, I'm sure I could nudge the chart over to youIt did originally come as a kit but there's no reason you couldn't assemble the stuff yourself.

You can do either but I prefer the straight edge personally, it gives a nice neat took to the pictureCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks Louise! I was thinking the same, I think would prefer a straight edge. Looking at the kit/s again I think I am worrying about nothing
The edges I have to cut are all quite short so should be just one cut of the scissors and as you say I shouldn't go wonky with just one cut................should I? :rotfl:

Great makes everyone...love those Santas Mags.
Well, here is my latest cross-stitch project a Christmas present for my sister.
It is still drying in the piccie, so hasn't been pressed yet. I want to frame it in one of those red hoop frames, but the 5"x7" are just a bit on the big side. I have some 4"x5" frames on order, but they are wood-grain effect, so may have to investigate further if I don't like it when it is framed.
Do you think I should back it with iron-on interfacing...would the white not show through?? I have felt to back the frame...again white as I have loads..or should I find some dark green? Not completely sure still.
Have two other Xmas presents on the go too.
I hope to get them both finished by next week, though I plan on getting started later on today with crafting for Christmas Fairs in December, should be fun
I also have loads of knitting to do too...busy busy!!
Have a great day everyone.

Just popping in quickly, to say I'm loving everyone's work and will post an update at the weekend of the robins. It's not progessing as quickly as I'd like as housework is getting in the way.
Lots of love,
