Sammr85; That looks interesting I've not seen that one, is it a new design?
  • Started my revamped gingham hearts at lunchtime, using some offcuts of red and white aida. Looking better already! Only thing was I left my needle case at home, so ended up using a normal 'pointy' needle which seemed to take twice as long as normal.

Night in tonight watching Holby so will get on with my wedding sampler :-)

Oh - anyone else read this months No1 Crosstitcher yet? Opinions on month 2 of the new look?

I'm still not keen. I like to do fairly large pictures usually, there seems to be a lot of faff involved in everything. I'm not keen on normal stitching and couldn't use a sewing machine if my life depended on it :o There isn't anything this month I will make (again)

I agree Louise - but as I said before I don't really want to give it up as my late husband started the direct debit for me and its like getting a wee gift from him each month along with cross stitch collection.
argg kids! packing to go on hols tomorrow (only sunny clacton nowhere exciting!)

Have a great time - it is always nice to get away.

I made a start today on the fresh new kit I posted a pic of earlier. Boy have I missed stitching on aida!! :rotfl:

Well done in completing your other stitch - lovely bright colours. And it is great when starting a "virgin" piece of material.

Here is my update of the american cross stitch - using an old computer so things are really slow - windows 2000!!! Was out on Sunday with my friend Holly, so first chance I have had to get on it today - hope all are well.

I used to be able to post pictures to threads and now it's not letting me.

I'm using the little image icon in the taskbar but I put the link in it just gives me a little blank box.

How are you ladies managing to post your pics?

Absolutely LOVE the dictionary of..... designs - they always make me chuckle!
Have decided to treat myself to them once I've cleared a few UFOs.....unless someone is super-kind enough to (((nudge nudge))) ;);) ................... :D

EDIT: Ooh forgot to ask - has anyone done the tiddles designs? I think they're fab but wondered what the difficulty level on them was?x

Hi Mags_cat. It's a while since I've posted a pic but what I do is upload the pic to photobucket then put the link into the box that comes up when you click the icon for a picture in your post. I don't think I've expalined it very well but perhaps someone else can explain it better.

I've been working on Santa and I have now finished all of the crosses. There is still plenty of backstitch and beading as well as the half crosses (////// rather than xxxxxx) to do round the bottom. I've made a few alterations, the main one being that there will be less beads on mine than the one in the magazine because I love my santa and recently looked again at the finished one in the mag and thought the beads looked too fussy in places, I prefer it how it is currently so will leave those parts alone. I'm also changing the snow he's standing on to be half stitches rather than whole crosses as I want it to fade into the background a bit more.

Sorry I haven't posted a picture in a while, I've been working (as in job, for money, not on my cross stitch) really hard and long hours and haven't bothered to take any pictures. Maybe tomorrow, if I don't get distracted by working on him rather than photographing him again!

Thanks ellie, that's exactly what I was doing - but it wouldn't show either links from Flickr or photobucket. (I joined up specially as I;d seen other people using it and I wondered if it was just Flickr that was blocked).
