Hey everyone!
I am mere stitches away from being done my girl on the beach! I haven't taken any pictures because it's discouraging even though I've been putting in time, you can't see the progress -- it's been all sand, which doesn't show up when I take a picture, and two/three stitch bits I somehow missed as I went along. But it's coming! As soon as it's all done (maybe tonight?) I'll take a picture of it out of the scroll frame. Also, I won a bid for the same pattern on ebay (it came in a kit) for $8.00, so I'll be able to do the backstitching. (My pattern is basically destroyed from folding and unfolding, so I couldn't read the backstitching off it.)
So excited!May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -
Cassolette - When I get a pattern I work from a photocopy so that if it gets too dog-eared then I can just take another copy of the original. Maybe that would work for you? If you're worried about the copyright then you dont need to be, so long as the copies are for your own personal use then there isn't an issue.0

Thanks for the tip -- yes, my next "big project" will certainly be photocopied! I think I underestimated the amount of time it would take to finish this project, and also underestimated my ability to stick with it until it was finished. Next time, I'll be making a copy, absolutely.
Ooooh, guess what? I just put in my last stitch! Now to wait for my new pattern to arrive so I can finish the back stitching!! Win!May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.

I also use copies of my charts so I can see the dreaded back stitch and bead/french knot positions on the original after I've marked off where I've stitched on the copy. I also enlarge the chart so I can see it better lol.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/54706782@N03/5130754083/ Is where I'm up to, I'm hoping to get it done by Christmas, but I haven't bought anything to start afterwards yet...lol thinking about it though
I'm thinking of getting a frame to work on rather than use a hoop - as I've noticed it stretching the fabric in places. Is there any particular style I should look for?0 -
Sammy that looks great.
I have a Symphony frame, it's a scroll style and it sort of clamps the fabric in so you don't have so sew the fabric onto the frame before you start. I also love the fact that you can buy the side pieces and the bars seperately so I have one set of side pieces and 2 different length sets of bars so that I can use it for different size projects. I did post pictures of it ages ago, it's on page 25, post 498 of this thread.0 -
Everyone's work is looking great!
ab. I love the sampler, will look great when framed.
Chicky. The Veg are really good, so colourful.
As for me.....I finished my design last night! :j
Though I think the bird to the left could do with going on a diet :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Hi, can I join please. I have been following this thread pretty much since the start of the year but have never gotten round to registering, until know when a lady in weddings was searching for her perfect dress and I knew what it was. There have been some stunning pictures stitched over the last year by everyone and I have my eye on a few Heaven and Earth designs after seeing some of the ones you have/are stitching. I like the Scott Gustafen? fairy tale ones.
I have been cross-stitching since I was in my early teens although I have had a couple of breaks but always come back to it. I am currently stitching a Me To You wedding sampler for my sister who is getting married in January and also All Our Yesterdays Flower Girl picture that she is planning on giving her younger bridesmaids as presents. I also have a UFO of a tiger and cub (its the Born Free one that someone posted a photo of a few months ago). i'm ashamed to say I started this when I was at university about 10 years ago, but I just can't get back into it at the moment. I keep spending time on it here and there and it is probably a little over 3/4 finished but it feels like a chore when I do it and I'm not used to that with stitching.
I have quite a stash at the moment, I went on a bit of a spree when the wimblebees sale was on and then found some more I had forgotten about. I will make a list later when I get chance, hope dh doesn't see it though, he will stop me buying any more, I'm sure he thinks I only have 4 or 5 (more like 15 lol).
