You should do it anyway. My late husband only had a stick when we married and was profoundly deaf. So I done us a wee mini cross stitch for our wedding - he had a stick in - put it in the coffin when whe died so can't show piccy.

He had a peg in when died and a whole heap of complications. If you need anyone to talk to you know where I am. Seeing your message brought back alot of memories. Keep strong but know we are here.

    sweetcarer ;)

PS the floral alphabet was done in his memory.

Well, after a frantic week of work, children and sewing - I've finished my wedding sampler :-)

    Here it is!

    http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa460/ab7167/c39089e7.jpg

Just got to get it framed now, there is a really good man at my local market on Saturdays who does made to measure really good value - I think it always looks so lovely to have a frame made the right size rather than try and fit it to a commercial one. I hope they like it...

It's absolutely lovely, and so well stitched :T. Is it a Michael Powell ? I keep looking at them and might be tempted to get the one with the red flowers .

IMPORTANT REALISATION - with the recession continuing, and the price of Cotton rising lots, and with the new year VAT rise, i think it's our duty to build our stashes to see us through the lean times to come!
So it's practially Money Saving to stock up our cupboards now!! :rotfl: :T

Damn that is a very clever idea! And one which is very persuasive too!:T

Yes, its Michael Powell - he's my favourite! I've done another one by him, not framed yet, but must get around to it... See linky

Also, has anyone else got this months Cross Stitcher? I love the new look and have been really inspired by this months designs. I've done a couple of small bits over the last 3 days, one for a new baby and the other for my childminder as a Christmas present. The phrase is "God is Love" in Welsh. I used the free kit bits, the table linen pattern and the alphabet at the back. My MIL now wants half a dozen for the Welsh side of my family.....

Hubby loves my rediscovered love of sewing in the evenings, means he gets to watch the rugby in peace :-)
