Bit of good news - the map of europe stitching that I couldn't find.....I found it :D

It was in a bag in my wardrobe...can't remember putting it there but no matter

Anyways...hubby was looking at it and said 'oh that will take forever to finish...so I sort of...kind of...stoopidly.....said I bet I can do it by the end of November :o

So..BIG challenge time! Think I will have to have the three kids adopted so I can get stitchy time during the day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Here it is as is currently stands, I started it in 2007, I thought I better get it finished before they let anymore countries join as Europe or it will be outdated :D:rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

you lot have been very busy. I have nearly finished another scarf and have done only one hour this week of cross stitch so not much to report really.

Can I be really rude and thank Sweetcarer for saying everything I wanted to say to everyone to catch up? Seems really rude to say ditto but you said all I wanted to!

Went to stitching club tonight and did a nice mixture of knitting, stitching and nattering:D Then disaster struck for the lady sitting next to me. She talks with her hands a lot iyswim and she knocked her cup of tea over her threads, it went all over both cards but missed her fabric (and mine!) So she went home to wash her threads and make new thread cards poor thing.

Have a lovely day on Friday to look forward to. Have a day in lieu for 3 twilight INSETs we are doing, but my sons school is open and my daughter is at nursery so I have decided to go to 2 craft shops and one cafe and browse in peace and drink coffee in peace then knit/sew until it is time to pick them both up! Great start to half term if you ask me!

    Happy stitching everyone:D

*Louise*-is that stitched on linen??? Can you link to/post a pic of the finished photo so we can see how much more need to do in 6 weeks? Good luck, girl! If anyone can do it, you can! :)

My holiday is just 3 weeks away now. :T We ordered our ipod touches a few minutes ago. Got them from Amazon.com and have asked the hotel if we could have them delivered there as it'll work out so much cheaper. DH doesn't know this yet, but I'm buying him his one for his 50th birthday. Shhhh...don't tell him! ;)
Have had a very mixed day today. A few good things happened and a few very stressful things. I got my maxi dress delivered from Yours and it actually fits! :j I'm 5" and 1/2' tall, so maxi dresses usually trail along 3 foot behind me, but I read the reviews with this one and many people said it comes up short, which is ideal for me. It's strapless (ha!) but I'll wear a proper bra and just have a cardi/shrug thing covering the straps anyway. It's really nice, though. Black with flowers all over it. I'll wear it for the meal on DH's birthday.

Been pestered over the phone about renewing my bike insurance which isn't due for weeks yet. I hate that! Anyway, this year will cost me almost double what I paid last year, even though I haven't had any accidents. What??? So told them I can't afford it and I'll have to look elsewhere. Comparison sites, here I come...

Then my Aunt called to tell me she's getting married and wants me to be a bridesmaid. :( I'm dreading it. She's very high maintenance and easily stressed as it is, so god knows what she'll be like planning a wedding. But how on earth can you refuse to be a bridesmaid??? Seriously, if anyone has any suggestions on how to say no (and not make her majorly upset), please tell me. She held a grudge for 5 YEARS because she didn't sit at our 'top table' at my wedding. Maybe I could get a job abroad???
Had a good chat with my best friend about it, but she just laughed at me. So I told her where to go! :rotfl: She's fully aware of what goes on with my family and thinks I'll be walking up the isle in a big pink frilly dress. Help!!!!

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Night all! xxx

Hi, guys, very slow progress on Czar, been pre-occupied with the ferrets :rotfl:I hope you are all well.

I noticed a couple of you mentioned damaged laptop screens, you can buy replacement screens from £50-£120 depending on laptop model and fit it yourself, its fairly straight forward. If that is too daunting a pc repair shop shouldn't charge much to fix it. For a rough guide on price put your model number in here :)

It's on 28 count vintage zweigart (so...evenweave lol)

I originally started it because my son was interested in where all the countries were so I was going to put it in his room. I don't actually think November is feasible but hubby will hopefully forget by then :o:D

The finished project will look like this:

    October2010001-1.jpg

Ruth - noooo not the dreaded bridesmaid question... I remember last year my mum said I HAD to ask my sister to be a bridesmaid (I was only having flower girls) and when I asked my sis if she would be miffed if she wasn't one she said that if I had tried to put her in a bridesmaids dress she would have killed me anyway. Problem solved :rotfl:

Your aunt sounds like she can be hard work (5 years for something so minor?) I hope you manage to wriggle out of it:D

  • Hello everybody!
I've been stitching up a storm lately. I tried taking a picture but you can't tell at all I've made any progress since lately I've been doing the sandy bits, and my cloth is sandy coloured. I can see it "in real life," though! I'll post a picture when more colourful details are emerging. Or I suppose I could post a picture and just tell you where my progress took place, haha. ;)
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away. :)

I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime!

Kez you are doing so well for evenweave - hard to believe its your first time on evenweave.
Thanks! It's actually really easy once you get into it, as it soon becomes apparent if you use the wrong hole.

*Louise* Thank you for the compliment, each character is quick and easy, especially since I had my thread sorter around. ;)

Funny enough my OH has dropped his (again) this morning and broken his screen, so I've pointed him in that direction. As he uses that a lot.

Had some bad news yesterday. My job's safe (luckily) but two of our team will be made redundant soon, out of 5 jobs at risk. This is sad as it includes a number of people that I get on well with. :(
