Hello, can I join you for inspiration? I'm Alex, I'm 32, two children under 3 and I've just gone back to work from Maternity Leave (only 3 days but it keeps me busy). I've usually got about 4 projects on the go, this is my current one

    http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa460/ab7167/photo.jpg

It was for my BIL and SIL wedding in July... So I really news to get a shift on! Have decided mid November as a finish date... Wish me luck! No fractionals, but blended colours and a lot of backstitch! David Powell is one of my faves, such lovely pictures this is the third one I've done.

    hello,

i like that one, very nice.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Keiss - sorry to hear about your asthma playing up, must be awful but like your optimism about being able to knit- wish I could do it without looking.
Thanks thrifty...I only need glasses for reading, I can usually hold my knitting far enough away that it isn't blurry! It's only when I drop a stitch, or make a mistake that I need the glasses to investigate. Love all your piccies...some really lovely things there, well done! :T

Ruth...sorry about the job...I agree, uncertainty is the pits..in all things!!

Managed to get my first fancy sock finished today...so have started the second one...plan on getting an hour-or-more's worth done once I get off here. Feeling a bit better tonight..but still get out of breath easily :(.

Night, night all, see you tomorrow x

I'm sick, just realised I am 2 colours short for my xmas stocking so either going to have to wait until I find somewhere round here that sells them or do an order online. Seems daft doing an order for 2 threads though, might have to find something else to order too lol

What theads are you looking for? Some of might have them in our stash.

Like Sweetcarer said, do let us know what you need, as someone might have it in stock to send you a bit. My stash is meagre compared to some, but if I can help I will. :o

I'm sure it would, as long as you are happy with the Aida as the background. that's the only reason I went with evenweave as the fabric is the main part of the background. :)

...Thats a terrible position for yu to be in, im really sorry to hear that. Even if your not one of the ones being made redundant once the announcement has been made the atmosphere in the offce is terrible for months.

Thanks Bubbles. i'm glad you are feeling better. the Stitch show sounds like a good motivator - maybe its already working?

The extra irritating thing is that i really cant complain as i was 'immune' from the redundancies that were made last year and earlier this year. it was horrible, the atmosphere was terrible. Now it's just me and one other person who are at threat, and she'd be "redeployed" elsewhere in the council, whereas i'd be out on my ear as our contracts are different:(. and i've not been able to feel happy that i got a pay rise as most stayed the same and many had a pay cut! AND i'd probably only benefit for 3 months before being let go.

On the plus side, i'm now 3/4 of the way through the two little reindeer and heart motif from the latest Crossstitcher... small and manageable, but i'm doing it on a scrap of aidea not evenweave so its not the napkins they want you to make! but nevermind.
