lovely cross stitch louise0

Thanks
It's The Gold Collection by Dimensions (Design by Dennis P Lewan)
There is TONS of half stitch (sorry!) Mainly the people are cross stitch but all the background - snow, sky, etc is half stitch in either 2, 3 or 4 strands (and with combined colours). I found it was quite easy to get big sections done quite quickly though because of it.
Half stitches aren't soooo bad, that's just when there's only the slash that goes / but not the other one that goes \, right? But that three or four strands with combined colours sounds miserably tricky! Do you have to be careful about how the threads lay when there's more than one kind of colour in your needle?May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -
louise that sound tricky, half stitches and mixing threads, makes me realise I have so much more to learn.
Today I did a ladies driving challenge for maire curie. I dorve a fire engine, a big lorry, played with diggers, went on a convention bike (7 seats), a massive dumper and a few other challenges. It was the funnest day out with my best friend but now I am exhausted, so stitching will be left for another day.LBM 04/10:j

Wow, everyone is doing loads!
I've had a day of tidying, cleaning and cross stitch. I'm really pleased with my progress, it's the first time I've actually sat and worked on Santa in months and I have done a noticable chunk. I'll post a picture in a few days, when I've done a bit more but it's looking good.
Louise I love your winter scene, and I agree with everyone else that it deserves to be up for more than just Christmas.0 -

Ooooh, that sounds like fun! Did you take any photos? (I'm so nosy...:rotfl:)
I've been stitching & watching films all day as DH had to work (very rare on a Saturday). Almost done with my spool tree. Some backstitching around the cotton spools to do, then adding the spikey tree bits. It'll make more sense when you see it-believe me!
For anyone with a Dunelm nearby, not sure if they have them in store yet, but on the website, they have the patterned scissor sets back in stock. I bought some 2 years ago and went back to get some more and they'd sold out. They were a BARGAIN at £1.99 for a set of 3. They have coloured handles and patterned blades and for 'novelty' scissors, I think they cut brilliantly. I have been trying for 2 years to get some more (even sending my Mum on hunts when she's travelling) and I'm so pleased to finally see them again. I ordered 4 sets to be delivered to my local store (free) and hope when I get there to collect my order they'll have the blue spotty ones too, because they've sold out online. They come in 6 colour options (different from the ones I bought before). Would make fab gifts for crafters or treat yourself.

Yeah, just the one half. It's not too bad once you get into it, you do have to be more careful with the 4 strands - it can get a bit bumpy looking and I had to redo a few bitsMorning. Nooooo......don't tempt me.....:rotfl:
Well, yesterday I decided I would get out a bit map of Europe I started stitching a couple of years back. Got the chart and the threads...but can't for the life of me find the fabric!! I know it was on the computer unit for a while but hubby cleaned it and can't recall what he did with it.The search continues....
Meanwhile I started work yesterday on a 'Sweet Dreams' design (Cropssstitcher mag Dec 2008) which I will make into a door hanger for my little nephew.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Louise, I love that Sweet Dreams design, in fact I have it in my pile of designs to stitch as soon as I have someone to do them for. You've done a lot on yours already, it would take me a lot longer than a day to get that far. It's looking great though and won't take you many more days at that rate of progress.0
