*louise* that's lovely
I might have a go at some stitching later, felt absolutely awful for the last 3 days so I've not even looked at it. We've got our central heating being replaced next week so I doubt I'll get any done. Has anyone else had their entire heating system replaced? Not sure what to expect really, other than a lot of mess!
It's horrible. Go away for the three days.
Noisy, messy, cold, inconvenient!
(I typed a much more indepth message, but it vanished grr!)0 -
tellmeitsfriday, unfortunately going away is out of the question
I'm hoping that if I expect the worst, it'll turn out ok lol

Have you got somewhere you can go to use the loo/shower etc? There's a chance you'll be without water for one of the evenings....
Also, if you have kids, can you send them off to granny?0 -

We must have been lucky - we got a system installed in our old place and it took a day and a half, PLUS they cleaned everything up after themselves. I must recommend the company more often :rotfl:

Our old house only took a day and a half too . They hardly disturbed anything and i had all laminate floors and they ran the pipes under them. They cleaned up after themselves and they were contracters employed by the council .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Maybe I was just unlucky then.
It took 3 days in February, remember the snow... Brrrr!
Day one was the boiler and renewing all the pipes from the mains under the kitchen cabinets.
Day 2 was radiators and pipes upstairs, and day 3 was the same downstairs.
Still, it's lovely now, nice and toasty in the morning when I get out of bed...
Lots of horrible noisy drilling, and holes being cut in the wall..0 -
Thanks for your replies
We rent our place and the landlord wants the installers to bring down the pipes from the loft rather than under the floorboards. So in theory we only have to make sure they can get to the exisiting radiators and boiler/hot water tank, and empty the loft so they can run the pipes across. Hope they clear up after themselves like your companies did louise and craftygranny. Not looking forward to it as I still feel rubbish with this cold bug!

Louise I love it, it's stunning! :T I agree with everyone else that it's not too Christmassy so could be on show for a few months of the year.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Had a really lovely day stitching and nattering. Have paid for my ticket to the Harrogate stitching show in November and one of the ladies there today is also determined to teach me how to knit - think there is a beginners workshop at the show too, and a bag making one I'd like to go to as well.
Progress made on my UFOs but still need to give up work and housework in order to enjoy a really stitchy life - this is obviously not going to happen until I retire (predicted to be at age 80 the way things are going :rotfl:)Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Savings for big things £90170
