Hi Lilliant, glad you found us. Also welcome to zuzieq & Elle1267. :j

I am quite enjoying stitching the border on my design. Because it's chunks of colour I can get quite alot done. I'm now itching to get onto something new, though if I start the kit I am thinking of starting I might just regret it as there is a Teddy in it that requires confetti stitching :rotfl:

Hi Louise and everyone thank you for warm welcome I'm anew user on here so I can't post links :( but if you do a search on HAED website for pandora it's the first one (top left).

I'm working on it in all my spare time although I know it will take years to finish. It's going to be quite large as the site recommends 25 count evenweave but I think the material I bought was too small if I did one stitch over two and I tried to do tiny crosses over each hole and man did my eyes hurt. I couldve used a magnifier but I didn't want the hassle so I switched it over to 18 count and away I went. The chart is 36 pages and I'm over halfway done on one of the centre pages. I didn't mean to prattle on. I'm just too excited! Will post pic soon.

Thats a beautiful design (I was hoping it was that one lol) You're not prattling on, it's great to hear when someone is excited about a project :D

The best part about a HAED is when you have done a few pages and you see the picture slowly coming together and it looks great :)

Now the Commonwealth Games are done, a week.....maybe 2? Though hubby is trying to use up his annual leave before xmas so with him being at home odd days here and there it might take even longer :D

hello again witchwoopiggy, glad to see you're back and finding some peace in Xstitch again. I've also had a break and am glad to return to both Xsitch and the lovely peeps here too!

Hello Zuzieq, Ellie1267 & Lilliant, !! wow, so many returners and so many newbies... anyone would think it's turning cold outside! I'm certainly enjoying stitching by the fire, but before you all have 'granny' images in your minds, i'm only 29!!

re starting out... i've bought some of the 99p Store's packs.. awefull patterns but nice co-ordinating threads and lots of aieda - great for doing bits from mags - just check the packet to see its not wonky! also, i bought a mixed thread bag from another cheepy store and hot water tested it for runs and it was fine, though maybe i've been lucky. Also, do check charity shops - there's one near me that often has card sized aidea packs and old mags.

*update* I've nearly finished the Lucky Swallow, but progress has slowed down because my fiance has returned from deepest darkest Romania! :j:j:j

  • well work is going well if a little slowly on my xmas stocking, I have a house full of people with a stomach bug and its been a week now! Hubby and both kids have it, luckily I seem to have escaped lol.

Hoping to get more done once they are all better.

I'm 29 too and have been stitching since my Gran taught me when I was 9. I love it. Just had a break of a fair few months but back to it now, I always come back :)

Its Friiiiiiidaaaaaaaaaaaay - which means stitching night tonight (craft club at my church - free drinks and biccies and good company - I am the youngest by about 30 years!) then tomorrow is stitching day at someone else's church again free drinks and biccies, a warm place and some great mates. Have plans to slog away at small UFOs until done.

    1) Quilt square for lovequilts
    2) Quilt square for the big quilt thread
    3) Fillmore for DS - is going to be a crimbo pressie now
    4) Rennie Mackintosh roses for myself - crimbo pressie for me too lol!

Then, and only then, can I start something else - I am all psyched up for progress in life today (don't know why but you know when you get those days when you think anything is possible)
    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000

:rotfl:I'm 51 and an old granny but i don't have a fleecy blanket or a cat am i missing out? I don't mind getting a blanket but think i'll be giving the cat a miss i'm scared to death of them.

Dorastar hope you get lots of stitching done and enjoy lots of tea , biccies and of course gossip.

Welcome to the new ladies and look forward to seeing your projects and progress. Mine seems to have ground to a halt at the minute.
