I know this has been discussed before but can't face trawling back through the thread. I'm looking for a pen for marking the fabric into grids and I vaugely remember someone mentioning a stitch counter/ruler to help with the marking. What are these things best known as when searching for them, or where can I get them from.
My Labrador and miniature Schnauzer kits have arrived and I think I would be better off marking the fabric to reduce the likelihood of messing up.
ruler tho others are available
fabric pen others are available
you don't need to trawel the thread - use the search thread option.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

If you are in a hurry you can print off a stitch count ruler from here http://www.countrycrossstitchkits.co.uk/acatalog/Stitch-Count-Rulers.html
Not sure how well it works with Evenweave but it's great for Aida.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hello everyone can I join?
I've been lurking on this thread for a few weeks and thought I would post a little info if that's all right. I'm 28 and I've been cross stitching since my early teens. My mother taught me how to do it and I've been addicted ever since. I do have some UFO's (at least three that I know of) but early on on this thread I heard about HAED and I bought two HUGE designs. One is Pandora which I've just started and Forest Light which I am going to give to my husband when it's finished as he loves dragons. I am really excited about doing pandora as it's so lifelike and will be the biggest and most complicated piece I've ever done. I love this thread and reading about everyone else's work inspires me to carry on.
Welcome!!
I love the Forest light design - one of our MIA members stitched it last year - are you doing the full size version or the cut down (but still big!) one?
I tried to google Pandora but have got 3 images - which one are you doing?
There are a few of us on here who like HAED - I completed 'Vision at the lake' and 'Stealing the moon' earlier this year and will go back to 'Touched by magic' after my xmas stitching is done. Hi all,
Well my interview is done and dusted now, so getting back to the cross stitch.
Couldn't find the connector to my camera so I've used the webcam to show you my next project, hence why the photo is so blurry.
It's for my bathroom - I tried to do a modern art thingy using left over paint pots but they look rubbish so thought this would be better.
Welcome Zuzieq as others have mentioned you can get reletively cheap fabric, threads and kits etc from ebay although I would recommend taking the advice of a previous poster and check the general retail price of stuff on other cross stitch websites such as http://www.sewandso.co.uk/index.html or others because the price can creep up in auctions and before you know it, you've paid more for the kit than it's worth.
I've also made the mistake of over paying for a pattern because I thought it was a kit and didn't read the description properly that said Silhouette chart so foisted by my own stupidity
P.S. Photo didn't upload so I'll sort out later off to bed now, as Question time nearly over.

Hi Louise and everyone thank you for warm welcome I'm anew user on here so I can't post links
but if you do a search on HAED website for pandora it's the first one (top left).
I'm working on it in all my spare time although I know it will take years to finish. It's going to be quite large as the site recommends 25 count evenweave but I think the material I bought was too small if I did one stitch over two and I tried to do tiny crosses over each hole and man did my eyes hurt. I couldve used a magnifier but I didn't want the hassle so I switched it over to 18 count and away I went. The chart is 36 pages and I'm over halfway done on one of the centre pages. I didn't mean to prattle on. I'm just too excited! Will post pic soon.#19 Save £12K in 2019 challenge. Target = £10,000. Progress = £1136.09/10,000 (11.36%)

Hi cross stitchers!
Shelly told me of this thread for cross stitchers (I got stuck on one of your old threads!) - can anyone join?0 -
Morning Lilliant, yes anyone can join and if you are working on a project at the moment, *Louise* can assign you a challenge number for your signature.
We love to see photos of member's work, but if you are not able to post links yet, let one of us know and I'm sure we will be willing to help post your link on your behalf.
