Thanks Louise for finding my number for me. Only problem now is that I can't figure out how to make a signature for my posts :( It's nice to know I'm number 18 though and I'll try again to figure out the signature later.

If you go to the top then click on user cp. Then choose edit signature from the list down the left side. Click on it then type what you want in the box . Click save signature and it should be there then. hope this helps trisha x

    elliep that santa is fab.

ooh lovely to see harry potter again.

23rd spiral that scarecrow is fab . I agree it would make a fab bookmark. but then i use loads of those so i would.

Think it was louise who suggested putting it on a notebook that would be great or how about on some of those like bell pull things.

Add me please, I'll take whatever is next.

I'm still rtudging along on the dolphin picture, but wondering is it a lost cause from starting too near the edge. Going to ask my neighbour today.

A weekly pic will be up soon.

Ps. I love all the christmas pictures and cards. Love this time of year. And everything else is fab!
Just thinking on this, have you oversewn the edges? That'll also help it from fraying.

I think I've figured out the signature now. Thanks CraftyGranny for the help. I'm just itching to get some real stitching time for more than 5 minutes now.

    Afternoon all

For those of you who have this month's Cross Stitcher (number 232, November 2010), you may have seen the dog cushion on page 30.

This would not normally be the kind of project I would go for but there is something about it that is drawing me to it and is causing me to have itchy feet and buy the materials!

What is quite interesting is that whilst the design is featured prominently on the brown aida, they have also featured it on red, blue and natural. I would be interested to hear which colour you think works best because Im torn between the natural, blue and brown!

Also the material it mentions 19 count zweigart ariosa, I have never stitched on before. can anyone offer me any pointers. it seems to suggest that you stich as if you were stithcing on evenweave i.e skip a hole ?

EDIT does anyone know where I might get the aida they refer to from ? they give a list of stockists on page 88 but don't specify which of them the material has been sourced from ?

May you join in? What a silly question ;) Hello number 39!! :T:rotfl:

What design have you chosen to stitch for your mum? And when you say 'beginner' do you mean you have done a couple of little things and new to doing a picture...or really a beginner?

    Thank you!

WELL, I used to do a bit of cross stitch when I was younger under Mum's supervision so I wouldn't say I'm a complete beginner but I bought some supplies today ready and excited to get started and I find my needles are too small for the thread - typical! That's the sort of level I'm at!

So it's good knowing I'm in the company of experts!

I got a 'for Mum' pattern with a heart and flowers, very basic but it's the thought! It's from a beginners cross stitch website (not allowed to post links/photos yet :rotfl:)

It's just nice to feel part of a little club on here, I've been lurking too long! I'm trying to work back through the thread and get up to date with what everyone else is up to.
For one, Witchwoopiggy - I love the Hogwarts design, looks brilliant!

    Hello everyone can I join?

I've been lurking on this thread for a few weeks and thought I would post a little info if that's all right. I'm 28 and I've been cross stitching since my early teens. My mother taught me how to do it and I've been addicted ever since. I do have some UFO's (at least three that I know of) but early on on this thread I heard about HAED and I bought two HUGE designs. One is Pandora which I've just started and Forest Light which I am going to give to my husband when it's finished as he loves dragons. I am really excited about doing pandora as it's so lifelike and will be the biggest and most complicated piece I've ever done. I love this thread and reading about everyone else's work inspires me to carry on.

I knew I'd seen this somewhere! This was asked on their facebook page & you can buy it from Willow Fabrics. http://www.willowfabrics.com
Natural would go with any colour scheme you have in your house, so you could move the pillow around into different rooms (to show it off more! ;))

    Sorry guys.
I know this has been discussed before but can't face trawling back through the thread. I'm looking for a pen for marking the fabric into grids and I vaugely remember someone mentioning a stitch counter/ruler to help with the marking. What are these things best known as when searching for them, or where can I get them from.

My Labrador and miniature Schnauzer kits have arrived and I think I would be better off marking the fabric to reduce the likelihood of messing up.
