I like him, he is cute - good idea to fray the edges and use it that way. If you do decide to give it to your uncle, what about putting it on the front of a notebook maybe? If not, it will make a lovely card (or bookmark if you decide to keep it lol)
Nice to see the swallow coming along and nearly doneWhat's next on your to-do list?

Hi - you see all over these boards that posters are a member of 'this thread' or 'that thread', well in April Bubbles listed us all with numbers and copied down our Monthly challenge which was our personal target we set ourself.
I found it quite useful and still set targets (see my sig lol), Bubbles hasn't been feeling up to listing the stuff lately (((hugs to Bubbles))) and when elliep asked about her number I thought I would just look up the numbers so people can put them in their sig if they want.
Ps - I have added you to the member list if that's okfeels free to let us know about any targets you set yourself.
Okay, I think I understand better now. Hmm, maybe my goal can be to be finished all the "stitch"-stitching on my girls-on-the-beach project, sans the backstitching... that seems almost possible.May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -
Hi all,
I've been a dedicated lurker on the forums as a whole for a long time but I've just found this thread after deciding to make a cross stitch deisgn in a frame as part of my Mum's christmas present.
May I join in? Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but there were an awful lot of pages to read through on the thread! I'm a beginner through and through - both moneysaving and cross-stitching! I knew if I posted on here, I'd have more motivation to keep it up.
I've found a basic (and free!) pattern on the internet but I don't even know where to go to buy thread/fabric cheaply - all I seem to come up with is kits with patterns included or expensive John Lewis haberdashery stuff.
Your pictures look fab, something to inspire me methinks!
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated:A recovering shopaholic :A

May you join in? What a silly questionHello number 39!! :T:rotfl:
What design have you chosen to stitch for your mum? And when you say 'beginner' do you mean you have done a couple of little things and new to doing a picture...or really a beginner?
Good place to start with thread and fabric is a site which a number of us on here use:

Hi Zuzieq
Welcome to the thread. I've been away myself for a little while and the girls here are great at motivating and welcoming back when we fall by the wayside.
If you have a pattern and just need the stuff to make it out of then I find Ebay (or similar site) is generaly good value. I'm sure that others will be along to reccomend their favourite sites too, there are some very good ones.
Whoever it was who asked, yes I'm stitching Santa on Evenweve. It's only the 2nd project I've done on evenweve but I do prefer it over aida. I think it's one of those personal choice things though.0 -

Thanks Louise for finding my number for me. Only problem now is that I can't figure out how to make a signature for my posts
It's nice to know I'm number 18 though and I'll try again to figure out the signature later.
