Hi Again Everyone.
Sorry I've not been about since aprox page 40, I've had some very stressfull and difficult family stuff going on and have not been stitching or socialising (on here or anywhere else) for quite a while.
I believe that my last target was to finish all the crosses (not backstitch or beads) by the end of May. I clearly failed at that as my Santa still looks like this...
I have done the top too, just had to cut it out to show the stitching clearly, the next pic is an older one but shows the whole picture.
So I'd like to make my new target to get him finished by Christmas. Considering that I've not picked up a needle since April this could be a big challenge but I know that you guys will help spur me on. Do I still have a 'member' number?0 -
I've just been having a look back over the last few pages of posts, It's lovely to see a lot of familiar names of people who were here before I left, and welcome to all the people who've joined since then too. You've all been doing some amazing work and all of the projects look like they are coming on really well.0

Wb elliep :j:j:j Nice to see santa again
Hope you get more stitching done on him - maybe you could make a target to finish him for Christmas, that seems like an easier target than having a monthly one, while you get back into stitching?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. EllieP that santa is fantastic - what's the chart called? Glad you've picked up your needle again. I had a break of about 6 years once as life was just too intense and no spare time, my UFO moved with us every 6 months packed in the drawer lol and I then finally finished it. I'm sure you'll be able to get your santa done.
I've got a cold that my daighter kindly shared with me so not sure how much I'll get done today - I was looking forward to my day off work to whizz round the housework and then get stitching but there's certainly not much whizzing going onHope everyone else who's under the weather gets better soon!

Thanks for the welcome back, I did put at the end of my first post (but it was probably lost under the pictures) that I want to make my target to be completion by Christmas. I may try to set other goals, e.g. maybe all the stitching by end of November and backstitch and beads in December but for now I'm sticking with just having the whole thing done by Christmas. The funny thing is that when this thread opened up and I introduced myself at the beginning I joked about setting completion by Christmas as my target but thought I wasn't pushing myself enough. It's funny how life changes even the best of plans and intentions. Oh well, it's good to be back anyway.
Do I still have a 'challenge member' number? As I was here when they were first assigned but can't remember what it was and don't know if it might have been reassigned in my absence...
The chart was from Cross Stitch Collection last November I think. Certainly a Cross Stitch Collection one as I don't normally buy it but fell in love with this Santa on the cover. As it's a magazine chart that is no longer available I'm happy to nudge it over to anyone who is interested if you PM me an e-mail address.0 -
Welcome back elliep! :j
Seeing Santa again has reminded me just how much I like him. Are you stitching him on evenweave?
Figured out how to get pics off my phone so here's my update. Doesn't look as bright as usual because the new phone takes a dreadful pic.
As you can see I have finished the main part of the design and the wording and have started on the bottom border.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Oops, so you did - my apologies
I am currently going through old posts to try and find the list Bubbles made with the members numbers/challenges on it. Will bring it forward when I find it so everyone can see their number if they want to put it in their siggy.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Me please, I'll have 30 if that's ok?
I want to get Touch a Heart - Grandparents one finished by end of October, just a little bit of back stitch to finish on it and then frame it. I also need to frame the baby sampler I did for DS1 (who's now 3) and then plan on either getting on with our baby sampler or starting the miniature Schnauzer for my friend for Christmas which arrived yesterday. Will have a think about it and confirm.0 -
Add me please, I'll take whatever is next.
I'm still rtudging along on the dolphin picture, but wondering is it a lost cause from starting too near the edge. Going to ask my neighbour today.
A weekly pic will be up soon.
Ps. I love all the christmas pictures and cards. Love this time of year. And everything else is fab!LBM 04/10:j
