I'm not a granny but I feel old :rotfl: today I hobbled down the road on stupid legs and a granny passed me on the outside and went past 3 times as fast....

Not good....*so* not good... can I borrow your zoomer to knock her over next time? lol

I have found out exactly when the craft meetings are in Colburn once every 2 weeks and it's right next to the school I have to go to so I might peep through the window when they have their next session to get the 'feel' of the grp hehe

I've been stitching all afternoon, sprawled out on the sofa with a fleece blanket over my legs and watching films. And I'm 30. No cat, sadly. The neighbours cat is too shy to venture in (unless we're cooking sausages and not watching the kitchen-naughty thing!) so I'm all on my own all day. Peaceful stitching, though and I get control over the TV. Been stitching the spool tree and it's coming along well. Should be on track for my challenge.

ohh ohh ohh i saw those in home bargains but the child version...... can you IMAGINE trying to pin our child down in one of them.... I struggle with a dressing gown!!

Ditto I am so glad its Friday also.:j:D:j:D Last Saturday was spent traveling home from our holiday and Sunday was spent catching up so this is the first weekend in three weeks where I can (try to) ignore the housework! and the tidying up ! and do some cross stitch !

Thank you to the poster who mentioned about the Cross Stitcher Magazine Face Book page, I found the mention of the material for the Jack Russell Dog featured in this month's cross stitcher. I couldn't find the material on Willow Fabrics website so e-mailed them and they have replied to say that its on order and will be with them by the end of the month.

If you want to stitch it on the blue material though, you can get that from sew and so :j

Hopefully Mrs post lady will bring me the material and the threads and I can get started on the jack russell but if not, I do have other projects - I just don't know what I fancy doing. Something to really get my teeth into though - something to keep me going over the long / cold winter nights ahead. Will let you know what I decide. I must also finish off the xmas stuff I started so I have some xmas gifts for people !

I have one! Well, the £5 version from The Works anyway. Not that easy to stitch in, but brilliant to snuggle and watch TV in.

The women in my group are all at least 30 years older than me, but they're really lovely & we already have something in common, so have things to talk about. One week I took in my ereader to show them (we meet up in a library) and now 2 women there have bought Kindles. Oooops!

it's interesting to hear everyone talk about groups, and church groups too. there's a knit and natter at the local methodist that an older friend goes to. She said i could go too, and take my Xstitch as i dont really knit. i've been pondering on it, as it's every other week and i work random days so i could make some of them. humm....

i sorta accidentally bought the new Cross Stitcher magazine. Well, i was in Asda and wasn't inspired at all to buy food for the week, so hadn't spent all my budget... so um, spent the leftover on the magazine! :rotfl:

i really like the look of it, though there seems to be more about shopping and adverts, but that could just be the critical eye i picked it up with. so yes, i'm happy.

*Louise* asked me what i was going to stitch next after the Swallow, and i think it'll have to be some Xmassy bits from this or the last mag...

...though i really want to stitch the BIRD on curly branch from Issue 230... i didnt buy it and regret it!

That was me & you're welcome. I knew I'd read about that material somewhere. They quite often use material which is tricky to find-why???
That dog looks just like a dog my Grandma used to look after. His name was Barney & he loved people. The more people around him, the happier he was.

No but I wish I did, may have to put it on my xmas list. My hands get so cold when the heatings not on. My cat can be a hindrence as he's enormous and I have to hold my xstitch up in front of my face :rotfl: not very comfortable.

Haven't done much these last 2 days and dont think i'll get any done tomorrow as I'm doing a ladies driving challenge for marie curie and I have to be up at 6:eek:.

Getting there with UFO number 1 - blimey these old ladies know how to talk and really funny too. I got slated for having sugar in my tea (jokingly) and then they kept saying I needed to keep my strength up cos I have two kids. They are all very proud of me for being a deputy headteacher, and tbh are more keen to hear about it than my own mum!

Going to grab an early night so can do housework before I set off for more stitching tomorrow. :j
