Dora - you sound so excited!! I wish we had a group like that round here :)

I was feeling pretty positive about stitching this evening (my company was the soaps though lol) and I have completed my October challenge :j

As it looked when I dug it back out on 23rd Sept after being abandoned for 5 years

  • I love love love that picture! I think I love it because of the detail, and because it is certainly WINTRY but not quite so Christmasy, you know? Very nice! Will you tell me who published it and if there are many half/quarter stitches involved? I dislike half stitches and have no idea how to pull of quarter stitches yet. ;)
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away. :)

I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime!

Louise I love that picture (jealous). I'm still working on the first page of mine. Lots of oranges yellows and browns. I have too have a slanket that hubby bought me for Xmas last year. It was my favourite pressie and I use it all the time. I have the token cat too although he only bothers me for food and to go out or if I'm baking and then he's all over my workspace because he loves butter. :D

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but do people on here only stick to one brand of threads? I've always used anchor but a lot of charts I get , like pandora, are in DMC.

    *louise* that's lovely :)
I might have a go at some stitching later, felt absolutely awful for the last 3 days so I've not even looked at it. We've got our central heating being replaced next week so I doubt I'll get any done. Has anyone else had their entire heating system replaced? Not sure what to expect really, other than a lot of mess!

*Louise*, that is just gorgeous!!!! Well done for digging it out after 5 years and getting stuck into it. Very inspiring! I agree with cassolete that it's more wintry than obviously christmassy. In other words, get it framed and up on your wall and no taking it down until Spring flowers start to bloom! LOL!

Thanks :) It's The Gold Collection by Dimensions (Design by Dennis P Lewan)

There is TONS of half stitch (sorry!) Mainly the people are cross stitch but all the background - snow, sky, etc is half stitch in either 2, 3 or 4 strands (and with combined colours). I found it was quite easy to get big sections done quite quickly though because of it.

I ONLY ever use DMC. I find it is used for 90% of the designs I stitch so on the odd occasion I stitch a 'forever friends' or 'tatty ted' design which uses anchor, I just convert the thread numbers over to DMC.
