Hey peeps!
Have been reading the thread for a while but have been very busy and stressed!!!!
cazmcf - that design looks fantastic, where did you get it from? It doesn't look rather complicated though! How are you going to get around the 'stitching too close to the edge' issue? Will it not affect it when it is framed?
Ruth_honey - that completely sucks about your holiday spending money - its so hard to come by anyway! Surely they have got to do something?! Even if it means you having to wait a while to get it back? I am sure you will still have a great time! Where are you going - if you don't mind me asking!
*Louise* - That design is so intricate how do you not go cross eyed?! It will look fantastic framed for Christmas though!!
I am slowly progressing with the squirrel design I reckon I have done nearly half of it! I have used the advice of marking the fabric with a soluble pen and find that it has made it much easier and although I have still made a few mistakes I have noticed them much earlier hoorah! Will hopefully post a pic tomorrow! I am finding it really relaxing and a nice break from the stress at work! To top everything off I have got to give evidence in court next month as I saw (and helped) someone hit by a car but now the driver is pleading not guilty to driving without due care and attention! GRR!
On the plus side! Got half term off and looking forward to Christmas! And somehow by sheer luck managed to get tickets to Glastonbury 2011 - can't wait!
Love seeing everyones cross stitch projects progressing!Keep on comping!

thanks charie, i bought the design on ebay. Have no idea how i'm going to get round the stichting too close to the edge problem. I ahev a neighbour that frames so i'll ask her.
Some one mentioned taking a weekly picture to see the progress is a god idea, 1 because i am also nosey and 2 it's a great way to look back and see how much you've progessed in a week, especially when doing a big project.LBM 04/10:j

It's a lovely design
I hope your neighbour is able to offer you some advice, and that you don't suffer from any frayingCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Cazmcf, would you mind sharing with us whatever your neighbor says? I have more room around the edge than you, but not by much! I too am a little nervous about how I'll frame my cross stitch once it's finished. Also... if I were you, I'd invest in some fraycheck or something, because it would be a shame for too much fraying to happen around those edges.
Good luck!
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -

Hi Dorastar!
Did a little bit last night, but not as much as I wanted. so will be putting the laptop down and the tv off, put my music on and knuckle down a bit tonight.
I've got one of these:

So I will get that set up tonight to help, as I should've done in the first place, cos there are little bits of colours all over.0 -

After resolving to face the current project / UFO I sat down for the last two evenings, and 3 episodes of the XFiles later it is finally done! I'll post a pic tomorow if I can get the computer to recognise the camera. I'm a little ashamed that it went from July's challenge, to August, then Oct... but as I didnt touch it at all in September, maybe that's only 2 months late!?!
(wow, old XFiles on video recorded off the Telly when i was a teenager. oddness. But David Duchovney is still cute!)
Well done on finishing the scarecrow! :j
Videos...they're the big black things that take up loads of space, right??? I'm sure the only thing we use our video recorder for now is when my Mum calls and asks me to tape something for her. She only has freeview, so if she misses something, I can normally find it repeated on Sky somewhere.Charliec45 wrote: »Ruth_honey - that completely sucks about your holiday spending money - its so hard to come by anyway! Had a nice day today. Got treated to a milkshake by one friend to cheer me up, then went to the cinema with another friend, who insisted on paying after what happened with our holiday money. Saw Grown Ups, which is really funny & just what I needed.
Course I don't mind you asking where we're going on holiday. We're off to San Francisco for 5 nights, then Vegas for 4 nights.
Just came home and have called a restaurant in Vegas to book a table for DH 50th birthday. They're even coming to pick us up from the hotel in a limo!!! :j Half price wine that night, too. Looking forward to it.
Early news is that we MAY get approx 10p for every £1 we lost with CCE. But who knows if and when that'll happen...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

!!!! news about your holiday money
They said on the news tonight that it's not protected by CCA protection, it's not covered by FSA guarantee, and that the Administrators will take at least 6 months to assess how much there is available.
They had £2m of assets and £20m of debts! Ouch!
Sorry it's bad news, but sometimes better to know...
it's really horrible, I feel for you Ruth
As for x-stitching. I haven't done any for ages, been really down in the dumps and tired. Think I may have a cold, so i am sleeping loads. Will try to make up for it at the w/e. Honest guv.
On the positive side - hobbycraft and creative stitches was fab. Was craft shop overload. I could have spent £thousands, but I was a good girl and "only" spent £30.
If you can get to one of these shows - go! There's one in Bristol at the weekend, and then the obvious pre-Christmas ones in Brum (NEC) and London (Olympia).
I fancy the big one next March... group meet? xx0
