Yeah the Calico Cats are really cute- got quite a few charts myself...
...don't really stitch them often though as not A Cat Person.... wish you saw more doggy ones like this..I'm always seeing cat series designed by people then wait to see whether they do a dog one and they never seem to! lol...
..anyone know of any dog ones like this?
I know calico crossroads did one cos I have it...did they do more than one? I have this one

Found this one though...only found two in all:
http://www.calicocrossroads.com/he/detail.cfm?ID=322 if it's a help.
Don't think there are any more...looked on Kathy's website who's pictures the charts are based on, but no sign of dogs. Might be worth contacting the Linda Connors who designed the charts.
Good luck, now really must get off this 'puter!!

I have toyed with the idea of using a pen, but so far just make do with marking the centre lines with threads and working out from the centre.
Do you actually count the threads, or use a thread-count ruler? Not sure I would have the patience though!!
My mistake was that I didn't do a tester square to make sure I had a 10 x 10 square, so it was a bit of a waste of time. Not to worry though, it's a learning process...0 -
A good idea with the needles Kaz, might try it out, will order a pen next time I do an order from Sew and So...which could be soon!
Going to be making loads of coasters as :xmassmile pressies and don't have enough. Waiting to see what else I will need....just about finished my Xmas present-making list, now have to get a move on. Finished the piccie for my Dad...going to search for frames tomorrow...the picture is 5"x5", so quite a good size. Will post a photo once I have washed and framed it.

Hi Ladies, I wonder if you can help me out? I visited a website recently that sold a couple of different version of jars which included crafty things, one of which was a cross-stitch one. I thought I got the link from here, but I can't find it and google just gives me instructions on how the make jars of cookie ingredients... :-/0

thanks, they look fab. tho see if you can get bits/ jars cheaper. e.g. i just looked at the buttons one. £9.99.
can get 200 buttons for around £5 inc p&p on ebay then a jar cost me £1.50 from wilkinsons last year when i got some.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
What a lovely idea for a gift... I agree they are a bit expensive - but the idea is excellent
Who's idea was it to use a stitch counter ruler to mark out aida when you are gridding? I love it. Why did I never think of that. I am simple it seems!!
Have a lovely monday x0 -

Evening everyone!
Hope you are all well. I am afraid I am coming on for a rant. I have been to my sewing club tonight and tonight was the night a speaker came, which I arranged after I had been to a craft day at this lady's studio. I'd had a lovely day, learnt lots and brought back my things I had made to show the ladies at my group. They all thought they were lovely, I showed them the leaflet she produces, they saw she does talks and asked me to arrange it, so I did.
So I turned up tonight and could have lynched one woman, who incidently has not been for about 4 weeks, as she was so rude!
The lady who came to give the talk asked everyone to stop sewing while she was giving the talk, passing samples around etc and I think some people expected to be able to just sit and cross stitch whilst she was talking. The woman who annoyed me was so rude, kept yawning very loudly, saying things were not very nice, just generally being rude. I was so embarassed. I ended up playing assistant, making things and handing things out just to try and support the speaker. As I helped the lady put her things away I quietly apologised for this lady and the speaker's reply was that she was used to some people being rude and not to worry about it.
Thank you for allowing me the space to let off that steam:D I have done no sewing or knitting tonight other than making the beginnings of 2 cards which the speaker let me keep which was nice of her (or maybe they were rubbish:rotfl:)
I am going to pick my stuff up from the framers tomorrow so should have some photos to share soon.
And finally, where does everyone get their cards from for xstitch please?
Happy stitching
