    Good morning everyone,

Glad to say that I have finally found my Mojo and am back in the stitching mood! Bad news is that I've had to start on something new :o

A long while ago, somebody posted a link to the 3D cross stitch gingerbread houses. I bought a couple and have been sat looking at the packet ever since. Last weekend I made the effort and read through the extremely confusing instructions, but wayhey I've now got 1 side of the cottage and half the back wall done! I'm really enjoying this, I think because I am making it for my Mum to hang on her Christmas tree.

So this shall be my October challenge. To get all 4 of the walls stitched and hopefully (with a little help from my mum!) get the house built!

Hope everyone is well and happy, and a big welcome to cazmcf
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

    Hi All
I've bought this cross stitch on ebay to go with the tram stop I've already done. It's simialr to yours Keiss 21

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=230510027788

    Only £3.25 so I'm a happy bunny

The plan is to do another twilights one - and frame them all and then put them spaced out on the wall as I you go up the stairs.

Still no sign of the house photo cross stitch (Giving them one more week before chasing them) so needed something else to get my teeth stuck into.
Can't wait until it arrives though. :T

Nmm. Just to let you know I received the white pencil today. I am going to dig out my scraps of black aida and mark some up but I won't be rinsing them for quite a few months.
Would you like me to mark up some extra scraps for you and rinse them sooner?

Just let me know, I am happy to oblige :)

  • Hi all,
Here's my update for today for you:

Here's the gridded fabric (Though I messed this up as I was trying to be clever and counted 20 holes, which is only 9 1/2 squares, so that was a waste of time):

After yesterday's stitching, I'm getting on okay with the evenweave at the moment, though it's a challenge counting out the squares from the text to the picture, but it's underway.

Kez, don't know how you have the patience to mark out the squares!! Lovely stitching already.

I have toyed with the idea of using a pen, but so far just make do with marking the centre lines with threads and working out from the centre.

Do you actually count the threads, or use a thread-count ruler? Not sure I would have the patience though!!

Nearly finished my Dad's piccie..only the back-stitching to do...too tired last night, and had a long-lie this morning (new mattress.....zzzzzzzz!). Will post a piccie once it is done, going frame hunting tomorrow in our cheap shop in town.

Have been looking at my Kats by Kelly charts:

    and

    http://www.calicocrossroads.com/he/detail.cfm?ID=189

...have decided to do some for Sis-IL, DS1's GF and a very good friend...will order a couple more which are sooo funny and appropriate!! Odering this couple from the US as not available in the UK...but if you are interested, she is stopping selling the Kat charts at the end of this month...hence my imminent order! Sewalong have most of the charts for £4.99...much better, so might get a couple more. Making me realize just how many friends/family I have with cats, and black ones to boot!!!

They are lovely, and from my point of view...soooo quick to do!!!! With only 12 weeks to Xmas...I really have to get a move on!! I may have to get more evenweave though!! I have loads of Aida, but fancy doing these in evenweave.

The kit I got for DS1's GF can wait until the New Year, so I can do it for her birthday next year (December!)...I got it from Black Sheep for £8.99, but poorer piccie.

Right, off to fnish my stitching!

Yeah the Calico Cats are really cute- got quite a few charts myself...

...don't really stitch them often though as not A Cat Person.... wish you saw more doggy ones like this..I'm always seeing cat series designed by people then wait to see whether they do a dog one and they never seem to! lol...

..anyone know of any dog ones like this?

I know calico crossroads did one cos I have it...did they do more than one? I have this one
