I can't remember if anyone posted one, but did anyone find a wash out/vanishing pen for use on black aida? I started Czar about 2 weeks ago and not done much at all, maybe blocking will help.
Unfortunately I don't think anyone did. The closest I got to finding one was a US site that wanted just under $3 for a white vanishing pen but $30 to ship it here
I only have 1 kit to do on black aida so really can't justify buying it, especially at that price! I have found some white pencil crayons and an off cut of black aida and I'm going to try the pencils on the fabric and see which one marks the fabric best but at the same time hides well under the stitches.
Edited to add ~ Being reminded of the white pens made me google again on the off chance I found something in the UK. Well I found this site http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/pens_marking_tools.html they have 2 white pens/pencils and postage is £1.95 for orders under £15.
Also found this site have a couple http://www.sewessential.co.uk/Category.asp?CategoryID=741&NumPerPage=5&page=1
Then I found one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHITE-MARKER-PENCIL-WATER-VANISHING-PENCIL-EMBROIDERY-/220576116954?pt=UK_Crafts_Quilting_ET&hash=item335b5c70da It's a white pencil that washes out in water and costs £2.79 delivered. I think I might take a punt on this one. I'm not in a hurry to do the kit so I might mark some of the spare black aida I have, leave it for quite awhile then try washing it out.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. I haven't tried it but have heard of it. I might be wrong but from what I can make out it isn't easy to get rid of. The descriptions I have read of it seem to say it can be 'brushed away' or 'dusted off' but I'm worried that if I marked my fabric with it in a place I didn't want it marking then I would be stuck with a dusty mess:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. here's a good giggle for you girlies........... (not cross stitch related unfortunatly)
for the last 5 weeks my skin has itched sooo much I've wanted to rip it off....... 4 visits to the doctor later (2 drs 2 consultants) and................
................I am alerrgic to being pregnant.
Yes my baby is causing me grief before it's even born!!!!
you shoulda seen the concoction of drugs I came away with!! I love the NHS and free maternity prescriptions as there was £50 worth if I had paid for it (plus £23 worth over the last 3 weeks)
anyway when you have stopped having a good giggle (believe me my office found it hillarious)
back to stitching......... I gave up on the fireman sam pattern as it was never gonna be finished in time. Instead I started a fireengine last night, hopefully will be able to finish it tonight. It's gonan be touch and go tho as I decided to use some freebie thread with no colour number to do it and the one way stitching has used 2.5 strands of the 5 i had!! may need some creative colour matching.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

May be worth trying Dream Cream from Lush. I used to work for them & so many people swore by it to sooth sore, itchy skin. And it's natural, so better for you. They should give you a sample to try if you explain your problem.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I've just finished my latest project - aurora cabin by dimensions - and I wanted something else to start. Not sure what to go for though. I can't even remember what sites are best to buy from it's been so long since I was looking lol. Anyone got any suggestions?

I had to google it too, looks stunning!
Sites I have used and can recommend are sew&so, acrosstownstitching and xstitchcrafts. Though I would also recommend looking on ebay first because there are usually bargains to be had.
For instance, this week I saw a kit on ebay that costs just over £22 brand new but I won it for just under £8. I was treating myself as I have been saving up my reward money from the Halifax and because I got it so cheaply I can now buy more kits
If you find a kit on ebay you like it's good practice to google it and see how much it is brand new. I was watching a kit that went for much more than it can be currently bought brand new....it was a bidding frenzy at the end :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with.
