Please forgive me if you think me being rude but have you ever used this site http://www.across-town-stitching.talktalk.net/index.html for your threads and fabric?
Threads alone on acrosstown are much cheaper than from sew&sew and postage costs are very reasonable.
Acrosstown comes highly recommended on this thread as their customer service is fantastic.
If saving people money is rude you can be as rude as you like. I always forget about across town.

Hi Ali . How are you getting on stitching on black. i haven't done anything on black yet. My daughter is stitching a tiger on black she's finding it heavy going staring at black all the time.

Still lurking here and looking at all the lovely stuff you are all doing - have done very little with being back in work (primary deputy head eek) and trying to get new class up and running! Dh's new job also has him doing weird old shifts so I'm chief mummy/dad/cook/cleaner etc as well.
Have a whole day stitching booked for next saturday at a church craft day - bring whatever, do whatever and they provide lunch and cuppas - I will be stitching in earnest!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hiya all,
I hope it's ok to post on here. I am after so advice - where/how to I start cross stitching???? Should I buy a magazine to help me? Where would I buy supplies from? Sorry if this has already been asked but I am going to start reading through this thread.
I would pop into your local library and have a browse at the cross stitch books there. They usually have instructions for beginners which are very helpful. (and free to loan a book, whereas the mags are getting quite pricey now I think they are £4 per mag or thereabouts)0
