Just for fun I've stitched my little kokeshi doll into one with different colours (the yellow is the original) :)

Also I've been asked to confess how stingy I can get with my cross stitch materials :o

When I've finished a thread and I've only a few stitches left on it, then I use it to do a stained glass window picture. Here is my one in progress and one that's been finished.

I have a ton of grey thread left over from some project or other so I use that as an outline (free stitch that to the shape I please), when the grey runs out I shall use browns or other 'window frame' type colours. I then use my odd threads to stitch random 'squares' in the window. When it's full I outline in black. I always have a window on the go, I just keep it with whatever kit I'm doing at the moment. They do take quite a long time to finish although sometimes I go through my stash and use up the oddments of thread which seem to accumulate there :)

As a variation on a theme I was wondering whether I could do a similar type of thing using a cross stitch patchwork quilt, or a coat of many colours. We'll see if I get fed up with the cross stitch windows :o

Easy and I think looks quite effective. I intend to use them in christmas cards when I have enough done.

    ohh what a FAB idea

    Hi Ladies
Anyone bought from the above over the web? Want to buy a couple of kits for my dd bithday but I am always wary of how secure it is.
Hope you all have a great day:p
awesome2 - I have ordered loads of wool from them in the past and they have been great. Not ordered any X-stitch stuff, but I expect they would be just as good.

Back home after a day away visiting family in Wrexam, what a lovely warm (and dry!!) day we had...that's probably it for the week though!!

Off to get some ironing done...see you tomorrow.

Thank you so much for this link. I've been buying single A3 boards from a local art supply shop for £4.99 each, and with the large size I have a lot of waste when framing small needleworks.

I can't believe how excited I am by this !!!

i was searching cause (off topic) my DS has made some christmas art (paint + water + a dust sheet) that i am going to cut and frame. but I will defo need to stretch it to make it look really good. to scared to use sticky mount board on this tho. but it looks a good price - there are a lot more, various sizes on e-bay..... http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A3133&rt=nc&_nkw=adhesive+mount+board&_dmpt=UK_CollCrafts_Scrapbooks_RL&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1
