It might have got missed in my long post but still have a spare copy of the current issue off X S Crazy all I need is a SAE with postage paid. It seems a shame for it to go to waste.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

Hi & welcome to the newbies!
Have done hardly any stitching this week and probably won't do much for the next 2 weeks as hubby is on hols from work and he likes to keep busy with days out. Hopefully I'll get some stitching done in the evenings when he's snoring in front on the tv :rotfl:
Though one day I'm not looking forward to....my yearly smear....it's not the smear I mind, it's the waiting for the results that drives me mad. Might have to go into Cambridge afterwards and cheer myself up with some clothes shopping. My tops seem to go bobbly very quickly so I might get a new one or 2.
On a good note I spoke to my Mum today and she told me my xmas budget so I have been on ebay and just won myself 3 kits for much less than my max bids :j:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Done at last...and managed to take piccies too!
Here's the third square I have done for the quilt:
Think my bruv-in-law will like this to rest his drink on!
This is the card for my MIL...came out quite well methinks.
Now I can get back to the Elegant Lady and perhaps The Astronomer!!
I am going to try and get as much done of the Lady the rest of this month, then come September, I will have to get cracking with Christmas designs!! Mind you, I plan on creating some sort of Raith-Rovers coaster/bookmark for my Niece...she will be 17 next month and is a keen fan!
At this rate, if I keep doing X-stitching for birthdays, then I will never get any Xmas stuff done . Might have to have a rethink somewhere along the line!
Enjoy your Sunday everyone. We're off out travelling/visiting, so no chance of stitching, but may sneak an hour or two in the evening once we get back!:)

Just for fun I've stitched my little kokeshi doll into one with different colours (the yellow is the original)
Also I've been asked to confess how stingy I can get with my cross stitch materials
When I've finished a thread and I've only a few stitches left on it, then I use it to do a stained glass window picture. Here is my one in progress and one that's been finished.
I have a ton of grey thread left over from some project or other so I use that as an outline (free stitch that to the shape I please), when the grey runs out I shall use browns or other 'window frame' type colours. I then use my odd threads to stitch random 'squares' in the window. When it's full I outline in black. I always have a window on the go, I just keep it with whatever kit I'm doing at the moment. They do take quite a long time to finish although sometimes I go through my stash and use up the oddments of thread which seem to accumulate there
As a variation on a theme I was wondering whether I could do a similar type of thing using a cross stitch patchwork quilt, or a coat of many colours. We'll see if I get fed up with the cross stitch windows
Easy and I think looks quite effective. I intend to use them in christmas cards when I have enough done.0
