Hi everyone! I love watching your projects grow! (That scarf is especially pretty...)
Here's what I've been working on for the past week or so: http://www.flickr.com/photos/38167724@N03/4900141595/
It's the one my mom wants me to do. I wish I had a "before" picture -- I did lots! Most of the green dress girl and two of the arms were done this visit. Time for me to go back to school where my usual UFO is stashed!
Talk to you later...May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -
Thank you for the welcome. I quite like floral type things or anything cute etc. Would I be best to go somewhere like hobbycraft and get a kit with everything in or maybe if there are any magazine with a free starter kit that may be better for me.
hello! i did a few things as a youth, but when i picked it up again i started with a few magazines - for £4.00 i got the kit (needle, chart, aidea at the right size, and enough threads), and a magazine for hints and inspiration. then i had to resist buying every mag each month! i then got some cheap Aida from the market and tried some of the magazine charts, and some cheap Aida & threads from the 99p Store and some kind charts sent by some lovely people
(i've been really good for a few months, but i think Bubbles WOXS might have tipped me back again! oopsie!)Charliec45 wrote: »Wohoa I think I can finally upload pictures I am no longer a newbie!!!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/53096723@N07/
Hi Charlie, those are going great! like the Home Sweet Home Cusion a lot and LOVE the freehand work.
- i've never thought of just posting my flickr link before - that would give me more hits on my photos wouldnt it!?
- have you thought about adding your works to some of the stitching Flickr groups?
- if you want to post the actual pictures here you can copy and paste from your 'photostream' page, or go into the photo, select different sizes and copy and paste from there.

sorry nearly forgot to say what i popped on to say!
Hey Bubbles, yesterday i managed to persuade my local craft shop lady to open up just for me (they closed bang on 4 and i'd got held up in the chemist), and luckily they'd just had your magazine in that morning. i've only read it once so it's not quite gone in, but it's brilliant! well written and reads like a page-turner, in a really good way i mean!i'm so chuffed you were able to mention the MSE Cafe, that they didnt edit it out, and i'm secretly quite chuffed that they kept in my sort-of quote
. :T woop! (ps. love your hairstyle, it really suits you!)
i've shown my fiance, and after asking if i really needed another stitching magazine(!), he was very surprised and touched by the article. not only does he now understand my stitching a little better he also understands my time on the computer a little better too! THANKS BUBBLES!!
stitching is good for keeping my depression at arms length and also surprisingly sociable thanks to this cafe and the lovely people who frequent it. thanks everyone! *hugs*Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Thank you for the replies about what is best for me to get started on. I have been to the newsagents and the christmas magazine is out so he is ringing his supplier tomorrow so fingers crossed he will get it for me on Thursday, If not, I will think again but maybe get one of the other magazines with a little starter kit free. I cant wait to get cracking !!0

Kezbaby - your scarf is fab! i know this is the cross stitch thread but do you mind me asking where you got the pattern from and how easy it is ? im not a very good knitter ! but I really enjoy doing it and would like to improve.
chickywiggle - i love your cat design, again do you mind asking me asking where you got it from ? i love cats and it looks right up my street !
cazarol - i agree that one of the cross stitch mags with a free kit would be a good place to start or have a look on ebay for cross stitch cover kits. most start off at 99p or less and the postage is nearly always very reasonable. Just check though that the kit comes with the chart so that you can stitch it ! Alternatively, if there is something in particular you are interesting in stitching then search for that! there is so much cross stitch on there !! I think I should ask my employers to just pay my wages direct to sewandso/ebay for my cross stitch habit !! (is there a cross stitchers (i spend too much) anonymous meeting anyone knows of by any chance?!!!!!) nb you do not want to see pictures of my stash !!!
I am not as domesticated as I would like - Im an ok cook - (still have lots to learn) but I agree I would rather spend a night on the sofa in front of the tv with my cross stitch than out clubbing. (and im in my late twenties) I do enjoy a nice glass of red wine but this makes me sleepy thus I don't feel like/ want to cross stitch and If I drink too much, I feel too under the weather ! to stitch the next day !!
Im busy making cross stitch cards / presents for xmas at the moment although I really should try to finish what I have started so far as I have lots of unfinished designs that just need the backstitching.
What cross stitch presents are you doing for xmas ? I saw xmas cards in my local charity shop yesterday - thats unacceptable im enjoying making gifts !!0 -
the cats were from a magazine..... pm me your e-mail and I'll try and remember to
;) at the weekend.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Night of passion...:rotfl: Will tell him I'm sorry for ruining his night!
well i bought one today, and had an email of dispatch confirmation...
*sit's and twiddle fingers until it arrives.
I will take a copy of it so i can make another for myself at some point.
I'm a bit annoyed with myself, i had a frame that you could stitch the material onto to keep it in shape, and whilst doing a de clutter while i was moving a few months ago..... i think i chucked it away.0
