oh they dooo look good Kezbabybabe.
i might have cut the mount if i had had time unfortunatly i kinda forgot about it and bought the frame frday - gave as pressie Saturday am. I will only see it twice a year so won't bug me too much, luckily.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Shelly,
I love it. You do such neat smooth stitches, how do you manage it ?
Linda
Thanks.
I don't know!
I guess they look neat because I don't pull the thread too tightly and on the evenweave I am doing each stitch individually.
I am also quite particular that if a stitch doesn't lay right I will keep unpicking and restitching it until it does.
Oh and the best tip for making it look neat is to have the tops of the stitches all lay the same way!
I didn't used to think about it and used to stitch willy nilly. Now all the top stitches lay the same way my stitching looks much better.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

wow that really is attention to detail I don't know if I could be that patient, I make sure that all of the top stitches are going in the same direction but thats about it - mine don't look anywhere as neat as yours do so the extra time and effort obviously pays off! :TKeep on comping!

Hello
thanks for the info. The kit arrived earlier in the week and has stayed unopened for the minute ! this is what i bought http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=40357&ww=1
i thought i could combine this design with some of the cross stitch designs from the advent calendar in issue 230 of cross stitcher. im not very good at sewing but I thought it would be a challenge !
that's really cutegood luck with it!
They think I am wierd as I am 36 and have granny (their opinion) hobbies. I just don't understand how they can just sit and watch tv at night and not do anything with their hands, I'm too restless. They also think it's hilarious that I have an allotment, make jam and pickles and bake. Oh well I enjoy what I do anyway. Does anyone else feel like a bit of an oddball?
you know what? i actually don't feel like an oddball. well, not much.
i'm nearly 30, and the other night we had a 'propper stitch & b*()*h' night - our fellas did some gaming in the other room and us girlies either did xstitch, hand sewing or knitting! i guess i'm not going to invite those girls over that dont do any handwork so i suppose it's self selecing. though we all got so involved wiht our handwork we barely drank any wine! shocking! :eek:tellmeitsfriday wrote: »Haha - that is so me... you read my confession earlier... but it's worse than that really. The other night, I was sat on the sofa watching the tv, drinking hot choccie, with a cat on my lap, knitting socks. ARGH!! I'm 32 - what hope is there for me!

The meeting with the doc revealed that they are talking about sending her home on 2nd September, with 6 weeks of home support - they are determined that dad stays at work!!!
All really good - especially considering how poorly she was at the start :j:j xxthere's no hope for any of us!
am glad to hear your mum is doing so much better:T

Thought they looked quite good for the mags.
That looks like what I use to keep my chart books up together in a binder. I just keep my mags in magazines files from IKEA.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I have now got a new nickname amongst my friends who don't do crafty things- Felicity Kendall:rotfl:They think I am wierd as I am 36 and have granny (their opinion) hobbies. Happy stitching everyone
I know what you mean I am 25 and as soon as you mention knitting, crocheting or sewing to anybody they always say that it is grannyish but I really don't get it! Surely theres enough people doing these crafts for them to have lost their stigmatism but apparently not! There are worse things I have been called lol!! I just like making something and having something worthwhile to show for my time!Keep on comping!

While I save up for some needles and yarn, I'm going back to cross-stitch for a little while, as I still have a few kits for completion.
Just realised that I don't have a weekend to myself for about 5 weeks! :eek:0 -
Have had fun reading through all the posts - am off to shops tomorrow to try and get hold of woxs to read Bubbles story, and welcome back glad you are better Emzy and wow that's some stash Chicky.
As far as the 'old lady' link with anything stitchy or knitty I reckon we should keep it that way cos they won't want to join us and we can have all the fun on our own
Still plodding on with Fillmore for ds but am getting annoyed as they seem to have cut all the threads really short and if I need extra I have to send off to Germany - so far have got three colours I need more of and I am a really frugal stitcher so it must be their fault:mad:
DH's new job is going well but means he can't come to London with me and the kids this weekend so am going to have plenty of stitching time at night in the hotel.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

kezbaby love the scarf! I am about 2 thirds through mine and have started another one last night! I am on hol on Friday so wanted Ann to show me how to go on with the new pattern so I can take it with me as I think I will have finished this one by then. The new one is on 10mm needles and I don't like it - feels like I am knitting with sticks.
shelly love your design, great colours.
dorastar glad your hubbie has settled into his job:)
right- I have 8 projects, washed, ironed and waiting to show you on the back of my sofa, could someone please give me noddy instructions on how to get them on here please?
plan for today, get some mount board, go to wilkos and buy frames, take the awkward shaped ones to the framers and frame the rest, oh and maybe get my poorly boy a little treat. He has tonsilitis and is feeling sorry for himself.
I did some rocky point for the last 2 nights and I am on the rocks now so nearly there, due to the knitting obsession I know I won't complete my challenge but have enjoyed it just the same:D
Happy stitching everyone:)Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0
