I am doing a cross stitch - it's for my niece, been at it nearly 3 years now (I know, I know but in my defence I had another baby myself so any spare stitchy time was spent on his sampler!) and when I picked it up again it looks like it has gone mouldy - I don't know why, it's in a decent bag etc. Do you think it will be worth trying to wash it to see if it comes out, or should I just write it off (I have a height chart kit I could stitch for my niece instead)
Thanks
Don't write it off! You should see the pics from one cross stitch that was looking beyond repair, but after some careful washing, it came up a treat. I'll see if I can find the photos on here and let you know the post numbers so you can see for yourself.

Here is the pictures for you - make it easier for you to find - just give it a wash in the bath with bio powder and it works a treat.

Hope it helps - this stitch laid in a shed for 4 years, uncovered - only thing I couldn't get out is the rust marks. When I eventually frame it I hope the mount covers them.
Kind wishes

Here is my update for you
Sam decided to do a bit of stitching too
Bubbles your article is amazing - brought a tear to the eye - hubby even said it was well written and good on you.
Off to do a bit of stitching and watching "goodnight sweetheart" - hubby gave me the whole box set for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.
Kind wishes to all

I love Goodnight Sweetheart! Re-watched the last 2 series a couple of weeks ago. It's on ITV 3 during the week too.
Think I'll get some stitching done this afternoon. Bike racing is on, so hubby will be watching that & I can stitch in peace.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Many moons ago I was the lucky recipient of a little cross stitch for a friend. Here are last is the finished cross stitch (still need to put in on a card - not sure whether to fray or to insert
)
I am planning to pair it up with one of these for my friend's birthday

Would you mind me asking where you found the kokeshi doll kit please ? I bought a doll in Japan a couple of years ago and I would love to stitch this picture to go along side it.
Thanks

I tried to get some stitching done, then remembered that I still hadn't ordered the threads I needed to finish the spool tree, so went to across town stitching to get those. Ended up also ordering a Mouseloft kit of some Meercats and the Bothy Threads cut thru lighthouse kit. Only because I didn't want to pay P+P! So buying the 5 threads has ended up with me spending £25...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I've finished the scarf:
While I save up for some needles and yarn, I'm going back to cross-stitch for a little while, as I still have a few kits for completion.
Just realised that I don't have a weekend to myself for about 5 weeks! :eek:0 -
