Well my colleague and I are both 28 and she does knitting, cross-stitching and uses a sewing machine, so between us we have a right ol' giggle about how we do these crafty things that are considered 'old' to some people. I also shared with her Bubbles' article and shared with her how we all use it to help us with our medical things and she agreed that she found it the same when she was very poorly as a teenager as it helped her to relax and get better.
Haha - that is so me... you read my confession earlier... but it's worse than that really. The other night, I was sat on the sofa watching the tv, drinking hot choccie, with a cat on my lap, knitting socks. ARGH!! I'm 32 - what hope is there for me!
Even the BF teases me!!
I am doing Grannie's cross stitch at work at lunchtime, and at least people leave me alone when they see me doing it :TThought I'd share 2 projects my 86 year old mum has done in the past 9 months or so. I just finished off the light coloured stitching and back stitch on the cat picture but she did everything on the lady picture. My sister got her started on needlepoint as a "distraction" after my dad died 15 years ago and she moved onto cross stitch when she saw me doing some.
The cat and the lady both look brilliant. I particularly love cats, but I am biasedthansk 23rd Spiral.... gosh what a long post..... i check everyday mentally reply to people then realise a few days later my computer wasn't psychic!! doh!
Erk, I find myself doing that too - If i have got my multiple posts right, I am fixing that today!! I can see some advantages for your computer being able to read your mind and get it on screen. It could never be used on Messenger though... imagine if it typed some of the things you thought: say "Oh I am sorry your carrots went mouldy" think "Shut the **** up you plonker!" (Or is that just me?)
Hmmm, I really should be packing (off on hollybobs on Monday) :j, but I have just discovered a new craft shop in my area and I want to waste time and money poking about in there this morning.. http://www.hulucrafts.co.uk/ The only thing that worries me is that it looks a bit expensive. Still a little drive will be nice
Later on I am visiting mother (obviously) so no more stitchery fun til this evening. She is doing an awful lot better, she can get nearly a whole sentence out without stammering, stuttering and being hesitant now, and although she's slow, you can have a proper conversation
Yesterday evening we had tea and cake (which she made) in the garden. How civilised!!!
The meeting with the doc revealed that they are talking about sending her home on 2nd September, with 6 weeks of home support - they are determined that dad stays at work!!!
All really good - especially considering how poorly she was at the start :j:j
Right you lot - have a superb day, be bad, be self indulgent and do lots of crafty stuff, relax etc....
I will try and get on again before holidays, but otherwise - see you on the 24th xx0 -
Oh, those quotes didn't work - how do I do them so they have the person's name too? Grr, I am rubbish!0

If you want to quote and reply to one person hit the 'quote' button in the post you want to quote and reply to. This brings the reply box up straightaway for you to reply into.
If you want to reply to 3 at a time hit the button that has quote marks and a plus sign in it. It will turn red. Do this to the 3 posts then hit the normal reply button at bottom of thread. Space out the quotes and add your replies.
You can reply to more than 3 at a time if you do lots of cutting and pasting.
Hope that helps:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

My auntie had a cat called Chariman Mau - and that was nothing to do with the cat's communist beliefs, but much more to do with the odd little mau noise he made when he was trying to meow!
Mine are called Boycat and Girlcat - I am not that adventurous really, if I ever have a baby I am sure I will just end up calling it Kid1!
Awww, I love my babies0 -

Oh my goodness! My Grandparents had a cat called Boycat! I've never known anyone else with that name for their cat. He just turned up one Christmas day & never left. Talk about a cat with attitude though...he only liked you when you were feeding him!
Hoping to get some stitching done this weekend. Haven't worked on the cakes much this fortnight. Got distracted with stitching the spool tree for Mum. Ran out of a colour though, so need to do an order from Across town stitching. Too tempted to buy another Cut Thru kit whilst I'm at it.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi all,
I've been AWOL for a few days - busy in the garden until rain stopped play yesterday.
Thought I'd share 2 projects my 86 year old mum has done in the past 9 months or so. Back again could you tell me which pattern it is for the lady please my dd would love this in her room.
Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.
Linda

BF owes me a Cut Thru kit from my burfday, but I just can't decide which one I want. I love the caravan, the lighthouse and the l'il ol' cottage... Grr
As for the cats, they came from a rescue centre, and I had only intended to get one. I had planned to call it Cat! As it was, when I arrived for a look around, these two arrived in the back of the RSPCA van - he had broken ribs from being kicked about, and was so scared he had puked all over his sister. In spite of all that though, they were cuddled up together, and when I peeked through the window I didn't realise there were 2!
I walked around, cuddled all the other cats, went back to the desk and told the lady I wanted the one in the RSPCA van - she informed me there were two and that they would be going together, so I ended up with 2 cats!!!!
Bless their cotton socks0 -
Aww that's a lovely story, so glad you rescued both of them. I 'inherited' mine when she showed up hungry one day... She's been with me ever since. Noisy! But I wouldn't be without her and everyone that come round loves her to bits, cos she's a little fuss monster!0
