I am going to start gridding my evenweave fabric tonight before I start my new heaven and earth design and wondered what is the best thread to use for it?

    Thanks

I think a fabric pen would be much easier, too. They rinse out in water & it'll be a lot quicker than using thread to mark gridlines. Sew & So sell them & deliver very quickly too.

I did think of a fabric pen but then thought thread would be better as not sure the pen would be fine enough to mark out clearly as it is 25 count evenweave.

Will have to check that link out later (am at work at the moment and cant access the link as it is classes as shopping :()

You can buy fine tip ones. Maybe Hobbycraft or Ebay? Anyone else know where to try???

  • I just use normal black sewing thread (I do running stitch over 2 holes)... takes blimmin' ages though and I am planning to try the pen next time I do a biggie. x
