    Hello everyone

sweetcarer glad your husband is not so stressed, hope he stays well.

I have washed 8 projects which I had stashed away, need to iron them and then I will be asking for advice on how to post as I haven't got a clue although I must have asked so many times before:o

Have done a little bit more on the millennium chart, nothing on rocky point but I have started knitting and I love it:D I am only doing a scarf with a basic rib pattern but it is growing very quickly and I am addicted to doing it:D A friend took me to a shop I had never been to before and it is divine so I bought enough wool to make 2 scarves, sat next to Ann at club last night and she held my hand while I learned how and now I can;t stop! So I may need to change my challenge!

I did get a fabric marker though but it cost £10 and you can buy refills. I hope I don't lose the blooming thing now:rotfl:

Can't wait until WOXS comes out now! Must go now as my dd (she of crazy hair) is wanting a story and she wants to see one of these too:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T:T:j:j:A:beer::beer:

    Happy stitching everyone

Although it makes me sound like an old lady - knitting is my other love. I am making socks at the mo :) You should try that, it's fun, and no more difficult than making a scarf if you hold the wool tight when you join up the stitches into a circle.

Actually I seem to do a lot of old lady things now - shopping at M&S (especially not buying "fashionable" things so I can wear them for several years), knitting, making clothes. I'm only 30ish!!! Argh!!!

I am beginning to sound like my mother!! Eeek!

Deep joy... it's raining, I am at work, and it's 2 weeks til payday... :(

Me too! My scarf is coming along a treat, I've knitted 60cms so far and it needs to be 150cms long, so a bit to go yet. There's a Knitters Thread here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/718513 (I don't post very often but I do read it and they are mad about homemade socks too.)

Cross-stitching news: Not a lot at the moment, doing a couple of Winnie Christmas cards on my work lunch break, once I've 'caught up' on the internet. So it's slow going.
  • hi everyone, thought I had better come on or you would think I was a diva. well got quite a shock when WOXS arrived yesterday, did not expect to be front page! It threw me a bit and how skinny I look, my parents have been on about how skinny I looked for ages but I have been too out of it to notice. So I had a bit cry but then there was the big disaster. My parents didnt know, I thought if my mum read it when it came in the magazine she would realise how much I love and appreciate her because sometimes I am so horrible to her with being irritable. But my mum is a private person so I knew she would kill me for being on the front page and even more so for her photo being inside! I spent all morning hiding it before telling my dad who thought it was hilarious and broke it to her for me! I got some argos vouchers for consumer pulse so going to buy her dance on broadway for her Wii using them in the hope she will speak to me again.

On other news i will be back shortly hopefully

  • Hi,

I have decided to really challenge myself and do an Heaven and Earth design which I have been looking at for quite some time. It is on 25 count evenweave and is done over 1 thread - I am wondering whether to stitch with one strand or two strands of floss/thread.

Also I want to grid this project as I think it will help me keep track better - what is the best thread to use for gridding evenweave?

    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hi,

    Which one??? :)

I don't use thread for gridding, I use soluble pen so couldn't say, sorry.

Maria - wow you have been busy!!:T My kids love Charlie and Lola, I might do a little one for them :)
