To get myself started again I have bought this http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=65884&ww=1 to do for my pal's birthday gift and a Disney Belle bookmark for my sister's Christmas.
I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone might be able to help with, how do you all store your sewing and threads? I've seen a few sewing boxes on different websites but wonder if a wee bag is better? For the thread, how do you keep track of what shades they all are? I've only ever used kits before but I'm watching some charts on ebay so will probably be starting to build up my own collection of threads.
Thanks.
Hello, welcome to the thread. That looks like a great kit, I'm sure your friend will love it
For thread storage, I use plastic bobbins and 5 bobbin storage boxes. I had the numbered stickers for them but noticed they peel off over time so have started using a permanent ink pen instead. I also tend to buy just charts as I have plenty threads to use up.
For other storage...I have a big box in one wardrobe with kits and UFO's, I have 3 lever arch folders in another wardrobe filled with charts from magazines and in the third wardrobe there is a box with umpteen completed projects all washed, ironed and stored flat :rotfl:. There is a bag behind one sofa with UFO's, thread boxes are stored in the sideboard, Small vanity case with 'spare' threads is in my bedroom and a small suitcase containing aida, evenweave and spare fabric is in one of my DD's cupboardsCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Not been posting so much, been struggling with the latest piece. Not that it's difficult, just SO much confetti stitching, didn't realise quite how much when I started so not easy keeping the momentum going.
Going to finish the page I'm on then put it aside to get my Xmas stitchign done. My mum's Summer Breeze is done, now got Meercats to do for my MIL - just found out the other week she LOVES them :rotfl:and a fairy picture for a friend.
Chicky - I hope you get that highlighter out in the end!

Hi Girls
Sorry I have not been of late - been watching your posts and enjoying all your wee comments and work in progress. Dealing with alot of issues at home and work.
Well done craftgranny in getting your monkey done. Like the cats too chicky - I thought the pink was another thread at first.
Well I have started my parents in law 50th anniversery present - it is not till October but time I get it done, framed and posted (remember they live in the States) I should have time. I also have to try and fit my own parents stitch as well.
Enjoying doing it, compared to golden earth - no confetti - yeah!
Hope you are all well in your part of the world.
Kind wishes to all

Yes, for me it is. I am enjoying it more now I am getting used to stitching on evenweave.
I am modifying it quite alot because the kit is missing a colour or two and there are a couple of colours that just don't match up with the colour description so I am just using what I colours I think will look nice:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Hi, thanks for the welcome everyone, very kind of you! Thanks to for the ideas for storage, I've ordered a couple of boxes from the link that Froddington suggested, so thanks.
My kit has arrived and I'm dying to get started it, I've had my sister staying for the last few days so haven't had a chance. I am seeing my friend who its for on Friday so I'll need to get a move on! I think it will only take a couple of nights as there isn't too much sewing in it. I'm a SAHM so will be doing my sewing once the kids are in bed (I'm trying to diet too so I'm hoping it'll be a good distriction from munching, lol)!
I've found a couple of UFO from about 10+ years ago  One is a Disney Little Mermaid one and is much further on than I thought so that was a nice surprise. The other is Seven Dwarfs but hardly started!
I've also bought a couple of charts, Home Sweet Home ones, flower ones etc that I hope to do as Xmas presents.
So I'm all set! Just need to fit in time to get started, I can't wait!
Thanks again for the lovely welcome and I will pop in again soon.0
