good luck kez! i've managed to learn the 3 basic 'stitches' and can cast on and off (woop!), and can add and drop (adding is all too easy i do it all the time!)... but i cant see it replacing XStitch or my sewing. i did get a lot done on a car journey though so it has its place! ~ and still thanks to craftygranny for my needles!! x
update: well, i've managed to find the mag with the garden picture i want to stitch my uncle but probably better to do a card first and a picture later if he likes it! so i've dug up a lib book (helen philipps cross stitch garden notebook p42-47) with some appropriate ones, just gotta choose, and make sure it's not too big to be a card!
help!! - the patterns are for 28 count linen - am i right in thinking on 14 aidea it'll be the same size? i only have 14 aieda and can't buy more and dont want to try linen yet!!
Yes, 14 ct aida will make it the same size as stitching on 28 ct linen (but you'll probably stitch much faster!).
I'm happily stitching my Dictionary of Cakes again today. I've taken a picture, but it's on the PC and at the moment I can't get online on it. It does this every now and then. Good signal from router, but only showing as 'local' access and won't connect any web pages. Usually connecting the laptop to the internet makes it work, but not today. Might have to find the reset button on the router and do that. Anyone know why this is happening? It's very annoying!
I'll post a progress pic as soon as I can.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

It's this one I'm tackling: http://www.collectability.co.uk/acatalog/info_PBNK11_3.html (mine's the lilac one.)0 -
ruth_honey - you aren't on BT by any chance are you?? If so I **think** I can fix it as it happened with mine all last week. no amount of re-booting will work tis quite technical involving changing the channel frequency (won't go into it ATM as don't want to patronise you like their IT guys do "now havvvvve you switched it onnnnn and offffffffff"). should be home about 6 tho if you need talking (well trying to talk thro) it.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

I appreciate the offer, but I'm on Sky for everything. The PC seems to be ok again now, but it's done this before, so it'll probably do it again. Still, at least I can post my update now...
I've stitched a whole square (minus the backstitch) plus some of the banner along the top of the design.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks Ruth, and tellmeitsfriday, i appreciate the confirmation, and the explanation too! i'm glad it will be the same size, it means i can stich a carrot pic for him for a card. i'm not fast anyway though! so good job i'm not doing linen by the sounds of it!tellmeitsfriday wrote: »I am dreading it when she can speak again -she's going to tell us off!! She's going to be a proper moody bear, because she has to give up smoking before they will do the op to stop the other arteries blocking!
Thanks for the thoughts, I will pass them on xx She will probably be fine by Christmas though according to the Doc, so that is very positive :j
There's plenty more posative thoughts from everyone on here, i'm sure of that. thanks for the explanation - i've not had anyone close had a stroke since i've been an adult.perhaps the inforced smoking ban will help her give up? bless her though, one more thing to deal with! Fingers Crossed for Christmas then
