Good luck with the big O Dorastar- can't they stay away until September?? Know what you mean about being mega busy and if one more child asks me if they can just watch videos now I think I will scream "IF ONLY!" How is your hand?

Hand is mostly better, although my recent creative writing of policies we might need this week is taking its toll a bit! We are DUE the big O but not had the call yet - we have 2 classes to relocate, ad whole school dress rehearsal, 2 performances and a house trip this week so they're hardly likely to see the school running smoothly and efficiently! [STRIKE]Am a bit past caring tbh[/STRIKE] (but if you are an inspector reading this of course we will be working hard and would love to see you)

Nice to hear from you Bubbles, sorry you are feeling in a bad way. Do not feel at all guilty as you have nothing to feel guilty about. Even if you haven't been stitching it's nice to hear from you just so we know you are ok enough to post. Keep hanging in there and we are here for a natter if you need us (((( Bubbles)))

Tee hee, "nattering"! What a great word!
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away. :)

I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime!

Please don't judge me - I know I have diabetes and it makes me very tired at times, worrying about everything doesn't help either - I was hoping we could pay for our holiday in October this month but money is short again and I have my glasses to pay for and hubby say he would like contacts instead - don't know how to explain to him we don't have much to do that.

Hi Sweetcarer, I don't think anyone on here would ever judge you, we are all just hoping you are OK. I too have Diabetes and it is a giant pain in the bum. I totally understand about the tiredness, there are days I just want to crawl back into bed. I've also noticed that when my sugar levels drop really low I tend to get a lot more panicky and worry about really silly things. My worst ever is when we are going on holiday and I'm really stressing myself out. I get really worried and then I can't eat which makes my sugar levels worse, it's like a vicious circle. Fortunately mine has only been a little bit of worrying, I've never gone any further. Depression and diabetes together must be a total nightmare for you. I really do sympathise. :grouphug:

Bubbles , we've missed you. A big hug for you too :grouphug:, hope they get your drug cocktail right soon xxx. Sorry if I missed it, but what happened with the magazine? You said they wanted to come round and take photos of your work, has it gone in the magazine yet? Please tell me I haven't missed it!
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

Thanks Maria, I've had it sat around for many years (at least 7) so it needed to be done.

It's meant to be a cushion, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it up into one, as I have no sewing machine and am not too good at free hand sewing.

Though I'm going to give it a try. :o

Have you ever thought of putting a Wanted ad on Freecycle for a sewing machine - loads of people have them and don't use it.

Alternatively, I got mine on Ebay for £7... it looked unused practically when I picked it up. It even had the demo dvd in the box.

If you choose to handsew it, just take it carefully... if you can do all the beautiful cross stitch, you can stitch up a cushion xx

    As if we would!!

If you are knackered - then get yourself back to bed for a couple of hours, nothing worse than trying to get stuff done when you feel exhausted. :( Boring stuff like clothes and dishes can be done when you are feeling more refreshed.

Btw - have you looked into the prices for contacts? They aren't expensive at all, mine are only £13 a month for disposables. I find that easier than paying a lump sum for glasses every couple of years.

Hope you're feeling better soon xx

Thank you all for your kind wishes - do you mind letting me know how much you pay and where
    Hey Shelly,
I always wash mine in the washing machine on a 30 degrees c hand wash cycle and they've always come out fine.

I always wash mine in the bath with some bio powder - only thing I use bio powder for - rinse it well after . Wrap in towel. Then iron on reverse.
Sorry to hear that Sweetcarer, we're all allowed to indulge every now and again, so take a little time out for yourself.

I'm sure the funding issues for your holiday will be okay in the end. *hugs*

Do have a looky online for contacts and glasses. I used an online store for my contacts and all they needed to see was a valid opticians prescription (within the past year).

As I said to Louise thank you for your kind wishes, do you mind letting me know how much you pay and where. Thanks,

Thank you Simac - I didn't sleep at all last night - upstairs have a baby staying with them - up to all hours. But they are inconsiderate neighbours at the best of times.

Nice to see you about Bubbles - do wonder how you are.

I am not so bad today apart from tired. Been really busy first day back after a week off catching up on everything.

Good luck to the ones who have Ofsted coming in. I worked in a school years ago - it was when we called it the inspectorate came in - was very nerve wracking but great to hear we did well.

Typical my week off - the weather was foul. Looks like the sun is peaking out for a wee bit now. Well I better stop NATTERING (I like that word too) and get on with some work.

Kind wishes to all - you are all great.

    sweetcarer ;)

I pay £10 a month for mine from Specsavers - that includes an eye test once every two years, and contact lens checks every 6 months...

You get a free trial for a month as well :-)
