Louise, that picture is lovely, i'm sure you're mum will love it
Well i've been really busy so no stitching since my lions, but i've been lurking hereBirthdays are approaching so got some aida and can get some cards done :j This is the one i'm doing for my mum, its only small and i can use up some of my spare lion threads.
On the subject of card charts, i found this site with loads of free ones clicky i'm going to do this one for my grandad's birthday he loves racing cars.

ohhh I am soooo bored of the browm cat I am on at the mo. Have spent about 8 hours on it in last 2 days and it looks like I've done hardly anything cause it's all confetti stitching and I have to check the chart for each one...... helped even less by the fact they have used very similar symbols next to each other.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

When dealing with charts like yours (similar symbols side by side) I find my disappearing pen a god send!
I take a section and mark on the fabric batches of say 20-30 stitches and also pencil mark those same stitches on the chart so I know quickly which ones to colour in once the stitches have been done.
I don't know how I ever managed without the pen.
Now all I need is a white disappearing pen for the one kit I have to do on black fabric and I'll be happy
I might have to bite the bullet and buy a white washout one but I haven't as yet ever washed a finished piece and I am so worried about the colours runningMind you, they only need a swish about in cold water to get rid of the pen right? Colours wouldn't run in cold water....would they?

Wow Louise, that lady is beautiful.
It is my last day of maternity leave today, back to reality tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it one little bit.
I've made quite good headway with the stocking considering I've been trying to catch up with friends too before I go back to work (which is why I've not been posting as much, been keeping up though). Kezia has had a couuple of early nights which has helped quite a bit. Still only done about a quarter of the bottom half though. It's a bit bigger than I thought. Might try to get a progress picture soon.
Lovely work from everyone, giving me some great future stitch ideas - as if I don't have enough in the cupboard already.
Hope you all have a lovely sunday

When I finished the afghan for my friend's baby I not only washed it, but I put it through the washing machine  (on a delicate cycle).
I admit to sitting by the machine, heart in mouth, waiting for a disaster - but it was absolutely fine.
I know it's terrifying but I'm sure a quick rinse (then drying flat on a towel or something) will be OK.0 -

I wash every piece of work, (and we're talking well over a hundred pieces) and the colours have NEVER run.
DMC/Anchor/Madeira threads I would be confident to say they are 100% safe to wash.
I hand wash with just a touch of washing powder, rise and roll in a towel to squish dry then iron.:)
Cold water is fine to get rid of the pen. Magic aida is harder - I washed that in warm water and when it dried I noticed some faint lines, so that will need to go back in a hotter wash.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks Mags and Louise for the washing advice.
I think I'll buy a white washable pen, mark a piece of black fabric then leave it for a few weeks before trying to wash it out just to make sure it will disappear when I want it to.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi Girls
Just thought I would pop my head in to say hi.
Not been feeling too great of late - been off work all week (annual leave) and not done a thing. Just feel so very tired all the time. I had so much planned to do.
I think my depression is trying to get into my life again. Take today for example - I didn't get up till 11 took hubby to work at 12:30 came home and now I just want to get back to bed. I have dishes to do - sort out work clothes for tomorrow - was planning on some stitching or sorting out some clothes in wardrobe - need orgainising.
Please don't judge me - I know I have diabetes and it makes me very tired at times, worrying about everything doesn't help either - I was hoping we could pay for our holiday in October this month but money is short again and I have my glasses to pay for and hubby say he would like contacts instead - don't know how to explain to him we don't have much to do that.
Sorry for moan - I hope you are all well - I am off for a sleep and then after I will do dishes.
Kind wishes to all
sweetcarer
PS Well done Louise and Shelly in completing your projects.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
