OK, I'm really sorry guys but I am going to fail on my May challenge. I am putting the stupid horrible bookmark away before I throw it through the window. I absolutely hate it .

I don't have a frame that will hold the aida band properly, it keeps going really loose. It's like trying to sew on jelly. I've tried to persevere but it's put me in such a bad mood tonight I'm officially giving up and moving onto my June challenge instead. No party for me this time

Sorry for being a quitter but for some reason this bookmark has really annoyed me....can you tell :rotfl: Funny though, I feel soooo much better now the pressure is off. My June challenge is definitely this and I'll enjoy every minute of it:

No 4 Simac - To complete my letter U for the Quilt, and to try to finish 1 A4 page of Nightmare before Christmas

If I've calmed down enough, I'll try and do the bookmark for his Christmas present instead.
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

Bubbles Im glad they adjourned it for you, I think the system isn't working very well at all at the moment, hugs for your hard day, it must have worn you out x

Sweetcarer I don't blame you for being angry at that assessor!  what a horrible woman

23rd spiral thats looking lovely :)

Spottybutterfly Glad you got some bargains at hobbycraft and lol at the mom incident :D

Simac Out of the two challenges ive successfully stuck to.....none :o:o I got really stressed with my first one and I changed my second one because I was bored lol :D This time im going to have a good think and pick a realistic challenge and one that ill stick too

Today was my OH's dads birthday so we popped round to the caravan for a bit and to be honest I havent really done much else, a bit of housework and cuddling cats :D Ive just been asked to cross stitch some gift tags for the four 'special birthday cups' (60, 70, 80, 80) for the party on Sunday, they liked the one I did for my OH's dads present :) so id better start those tomorrow!

    Hi all,

Sorry I've not posted much, I have been lurking though.

Sweetcarer, really pleased to hear that your mum is home, hope she is resting up
Louise, congrats on the new nephew and anniversary - what a fab week
Bubbles, well done on getting your story written so well. I'm afraid I could only read half of it as it had me in tears, I'm still blaming pregnancy hormones despite the fact she is 8 months on Saturday. I'll read the rest when I've got better control of myself but good on you for starting to come out the other side. I'm sure you will be an inspiration to many.

And for me... party time :T:beer::j May challenge complete
Humphrey is finished, photos to follow once it is ironed and framed. Off to see the new nephew again tomorrow but will try to do it over the weekend. The backstitch was a bit of a pig as it never seemed to land on the aida holes and I had to keep splitting the fabric but it's done now.

On to the stocking. It's on a scroll frame so I doubt I'll take it with me tomorrow but I should be able to start on it again by Saturday.

Have a great holiday weekend all

Hmm not go much further with my challenges either, but have sorted out our bedroom which was a disaster zone so have achieved something today and Friday night is my traditional stitching night so might get a bit done then.

Was just going to log off to have some dinner and do some stitching when I remembered I hadn't done my update yet!

    Here it was last week....
    Photo-0006-1.jpg

    And here's this weeks progress....
    Photo-0007-1.jpg

Next weeks update will most likely be the same picture as today. With hubby being at home for the week I probably won't get any stitching done :(

Just having a wee nose while I am on my lunch break - only get half hour.

A little sad today. Put the in memorian notice in next weeks local rag for my late hubby.

    Mark Kenny - died 04/06/2005 aged 42 - missed always - Jean x

As you can see it will be 5 years next week. Will take flowers to where we scattered the ashes - 5 red roses (one for each year).

Hubby (Micheal) said something weird/odd last night, when I mentioned I needed money to put this in paper. He has no objection me doing it but should I not consider stopping after this year. I don't what to feel about that. When is the best time to stop. He is working next week - so I will be home alone with Sam.

Sam goes to vet today for his/her first set of jags. He/she will be 10 weeks on Sunday. Will find out also is it a boy or a girl too.

Wish I brought some sewing to work - boss is off on holiday and I have managed to get everything done this morning. Will start work again on my golden earth.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)
