Hi everyone. Wel just got back from the tribunal. They have adjorned it for 28 days (or the nearest hearing to the 28) to allow my doctor to write a report and to get further reports as I now have a bipolar specialist. I barely slept last night and felt so sick all day. There was a female doctor who was lovely and understanding and a male barrister who was a specialist in benefits and eployment law. He was hard but they decided that through no fault of my own welfare rights let me down (I showed them a letter from them agreeing to represent me and he said the woman was next door representing someone else!) so he adjourned it, he said its the first time he has ever agreed one but in the interests of justice it had to be done. So its not all done and over but its the best I could hope for after being so badly let down.

I feel so drained now. I have skim read peoples posts and I am overwhelmed that so many people have read my story and that it has touched you all. I will post properly later as I feel so sick and tired I cant think straight.

Bubbles that is good news hun now you will have more time to prepare try to take a few deep breaths and a couple of cups of tea. I am sure this will be over soon. You have now successfully conquered the first hurdle just as I am sure you will the rest.
    Take CARE Hun

  • Louise- Congradz on becoming an aunty.

sweetcarer- im glad to hear your mum is home.

Mrs M - Hope your Ok.

Bubbles - *hugs*, It so brave to be sending your story in and sharing with everyone. Glad to here the tribunal had been ajourned.

I'm now scared of getting reassesed as i know they'll say i can work with help. But what i find daft is that were not as fit/ well as the general population yet there's millions of people on the dole and the new government polices basically think its fair for us to be competing for jobs with "normal" people. As a employer if i had a choice between someone with health problems meaning they might not be reliable, and who have been out of work for 2 years. Or someone who is on JSA, is able to get to interveiws, is fully fit and only left their last job as the company were laying people off or had went in to administration, its a no brainer for the employer.

Imo they dont need to have more people competing for jobs, also suerly this new get people off Incapacity Benefit is going to effect the job market at a time that it isnt needed- it would be different if we hadnt had the ressesion. I dont agree with the way the system is but i also dont agree with how it was either. They need to find a better system.

Anyhow sorry for going OT. Back on topic, i went to Hobby Craft yesterday- thanks to whoever it was who reminded us of the sale (most the non stitching stuff was reduced when we went in last week so we it was about to start). I bought 4 small cross-stitches and my mam bought 3 DMC yesterdays kits (or is it yesteryears i allways get muddled) and a large sampler. I also bought a draw orginiser thingy (i dont really know the real name and they dont have it online), so i'm going to use that to store my thread rather than the pocket organisers i was going to get.

I saw a gorgeous angel but it was soo expensive - nearly £40, it was very smiler to Bubbles one- it had birds around the head and was blue. It had beads in it too.

I also totally embaresed my self at one point- there was a woman wearing the same colour top as my mam and had similar hair- and my mum had went to a different isle to me so i thought i'd found her- i wasnt payimg much attention tho- still looking at stuff and i started talking to her like it was my mam, only when she spoke did i realise i wasnt my mum :o .

They had loads of kits reduced. But after searching through them my hands were flithy, are all hobbycraft stores like that or is our just particulary manky?

I also got a frame in TK Maxx for £3 - our store had loads in clearence reduced from £15 and £10 for either a 50cmx40cm or 40x40cm - a couple had smashed glass and i just got the impression there was so many as people couldnt be bothered to sort through.

We did have a FB group last year. MSE craft girlies or something, I think. I left FB a couple of months ago, so can't look it up. Having enough trouble keeping up with this thread & the quilt one, plus updating my blog & photos, so I won't be joining anything new-sorry Chickywiggle. Nothing personal, but not enough time & don't want to sign up to FB again. It was hard enough figuring out how to leave before!

23rd Spiral - ooh I didnt spot any mistakes but I did think the square in the middle was odd have you noticed it is off centre??

Hi Ali - the central bit being off centre really made my head hurt when counting how big it was... was sure i'd got it wrong, but i hadnt. i think! :)

The mistakes are in the cream top right bit - it sets up a fabric repeat of small red flowers with leaves. on 3 of those flowers the leaves are in a different place to the rest - this isnt something that would happen in a fabric, so i would say shouldnt happen in a Xstitch design either!
    - the topmost one has it's left hand side leaft one square too high
    - the two flowers on the row nearest to the central green square are each missing Both of their leaves... so i guess that's really 5 mistakes in the pattern!
anyway, enough of being a picky pedant... here's a photo of work in a week! :D

Hi bubbles, oh my. That is very kind of you to share. I'd picked up on bits and pieces from your normal posts, but gosh you've been through the mill. i too can vouch that stitching (crafting & writing too) is good for depression, so you've got me thinking that your article should also be published in a health mag or womens mag too! to let others know is so good for you!:)

I cant see how they could pass up your article, its had me in tears. your story is very moving and is also Very Well Written. (and i had to smile when you kinda quoted me - i did and do mean it!).

(sorry, i'm ever the pesamist at the moment - i hope you posting it here doesnt count as it being 'published'? i shouldnt think so, but mags ect like 'new' material. though i've seen some that have been re-hashed from blogs so i doubt it will matter. if it does, you could always say you were getting our 'approval' as we were mentioned!!)

Congrats Louise on your first anniversery. Have a special day with paper.

Bubbles I hope the adjournement goes well.

It annoys me the system. A few years back when my late hubby was alive they came to assess him to see "if he really was disabled". At that time my hubby was in a wheelchair, muscle wastage, no hearing (profoundly deaf), epileptic.

They came to the house - the woman thought he was just ignoring me as he wasn't listening and she wanted him to walk - I said he would fall and hurt himself as he can't unaided. Still she wanted him to do it and yes he fell. I nearly threw the woman out she was so ignorant. We managed to keep our benefits as I asked for a second person to assess him and reported the first once for insolence.

I hope all goes well for you. If I was nearer I would come with you for moral support.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)
