For all those who have given up on their challenge or isnt going to complete it your not letting anyone down. I didnt even chose one this month as I couldnt think of one! Its meant to be a bit of fun and encouragement but life does get in the way sometimes and as long as we enjoy our stitching, whether we complete the challenge or not, we are all winners.

Thanks Bubbles that made me smile.

I'm in a much better mood today (sorry for my little rant!). I've started my letter for the quilt, and my wonderful friend has offered to finish the bookmark, she's got more patience than me!

Hope everyone is well, nice to see a few people on FB.
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

A little sad today. Put the in memorian notice in next weeks local rag for my late hubby.

    Mark Kenny - died 04/06/2005 aged 42 - missed always - Jean x

As you can see it will be 5 years next week. Will take flowers to where we scattered the ashes - 5 red roses (one for each year).

Hubby (Micheal) said something weird/odd last night, when I mentioned I needed money to put this in paper. He has no objection me doing it but should I not consider stopping after this year. I don't what to feel about that. When is the best time to stop. He is working next week - so I will be home alone with Sam.
That's good that you take time to acknowledge your first husband's death.

We didn't do the same for my dad, though we visit the grave every 4-6 months to update the flowers and look after the garden.

What I did do is put a notice in the paper when it got to 10 years (3 years ago), not sure if I plan on doing any others, I might put one in for 20 years. My dad knew many people through his trade, so it's a way of acknowledging it and reminding them.

Of course at the end of the day, it's up to you, only you are able to know what it feels like to have lost him after having cared for him for so long and you want to acknowledge that in anyway you feel is suitable.

    *hugs*

Still sewing the collie and horse, at least noe I've nearly finished the bottom half anf have done the main part of the horse's mane...I'll pop pictures up when I work out how to send them from my phone...no USB cable :/
elfen - does your computer take memory card? If so, you can just pop your camera's memory card directly into the computer, and treat it like a USB pen, no need for a cable then :D

I must have missed something - I keep seeing people refer to 'the house' as a communal project.

Is that the one I am doing or is there another pic I have missed lol?
    :o
Yup Louise, it is the house you are sewing...how does it feel to be a trend-setter? ;)

Haven't done much sewing this week..but sowed loads of seeds yesterday.
..does that count?? :DRaining heavily today, annoying, but good for the garden though.

Off to get some bread started...a bit late, but won't need it until tea-time tonight at the earliest...going to try some of Mrs M's soft white rolls...hope she is OK, not heard from her much, though she still is over on the GC thread. Hello Mrs M

Hope to get more sewing done in the next few days...will post piccies Monday/Tuesday.

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever the weather.

Yay awful weather today = stitching, tidying, baking with kids and school work. I am rubbish at doing anything when the sun is shining, think it goes to my head and melts my otherwise organised brain cells!

Plan to gut dd's room today (promised her we would this week) and then finish m-i-l's flowers and dd's fairies while crooning along to eurovision tonight:j

Cool, I'm just glad I'm already on it lol. It's fairly easy, and the figures are so cute (I changed mine from the originals a little to suit us better). I already have it scanned if anyone needs it emailed, just shout.

Everything is lovely but the elephant is amazing, what a great little pressie for your nana. I'm going to be nosey and ask if you made the flower and leaves on the card or if they are a "topper". It looks as is it was embossed on parchment paper and then painted, really delicate and effective. You are very creative anyway, I think it is so thoughtful to give hand made presents to people. I usually stitch cards etc for Christmas for family and they do appreciate the time and effort.
