She didn't even sound German either - it was a weird mix of american/german/english/summatelse :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. very nice Dorastar!:T
I was very busy sorting out the threads for my Charlie and Lola cards. Forgot to photcopy the charts out of the magazine before we broke up from school so will have to go to the library. Where else can you copy things ? The library is now closed until Tuesday:mad: Need to get a couple of threads which I don't have anyway so need to go into town.
I have laso done the flower ladies skirt which was about 35 french knots. Am now tackling the right hand corner of the chart which has about 25:eek:
Then just the back stitching and one more big flower made of french knots and it's done:j So have lots to do before can start the charlie and lola cards. Might start another chart in the meantime to relieve the boredom of backstitch:D
Oh I have a confession, whilst searching for thread holders I found a scissor keep kit which i have stitched but not made up so have another UFO!
I went to a community market today and I bought something off a stall owned by a lady whose stitching group I used to attend. She invited me to a class on Monday nights. She said that she would show me how to knit to a pattern as I really want to knit but can only do the basic stitches and not follow a pattern. So I am very excited:D Went to the gym and gave up my membership as I haven't been going and I don't want to feel guilty about going stitching and not there.
My friend and I are also trying to start a craft group up and we had a get to know you meeting on Thursday night. It was fun but I think most of the people who were there were very willing but didn't actually do very much at the minute so I was a bit disppointed. I can do some things but was hoping that there would be others who knew more than me about other crafts I haven't done before as I'm not really that experienced. We are learning how to do sugar craft flowers next month which I want to try but the only other skills that people offered were from an ex- virgin vie consultant who is going to do a make-up application session which will be interesting but not exactly crafty! we are going to come together next month with a wish list of the things we would like to learn but I can see it turning into a friendship/socialising group but nothing more, which will be nice but not exactly what I was hoping for. does anyone else go to groups? what are they like? do you pay for experts to come and teach you things? If the crafty element fails then I might suggest we turn it into a reading group.
Anywaywaffling over! Have a good day stitching everyone, I am going to get (french) knotted!:rotfl:Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -

I *think* that some supermarkets have photocopiers you can use. Pretty sure I've seen one in tesco before. Even some newsagents round here can do copying. Hope you find something before Tuesday.

I go to a craft group at a library once a fortnight. There's about 8-10 people that come along-some don't make it every time-and we all chip in 50p each and for that the library staff make us tea/coffee and we have some biscuits (if we've been *really* good, we sometimes get Kitkats!). It lasts for 1 1/2 hours and some people knit, some crochet, some stitch...last week most of them were trying out my new ereader! We don't really learn new things, to be honest. We just meet up and chat and take something crafty to do. I know some girls have found out they all like jewellery making, so now they also go to a class together for that.
I enjoy it and although I'm the youngest there by about 25 years, it's nice to see what everyone else is working on, and it gets me out of the house!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I go to one at our church and we take it in turns to give a little talk about stuff we do - some painters, card makers, stitchers. What about deciding on a project you could all have a go at eg make Christmas cards to sell for a local charity (gives you a nice long time to have a go) or make something for local children's charity? Hobbycraft has a load of leaflets of things to make eg simple cushions, jewellery etc so you could pick something you liked, split the cost of materials and help each other with the actual making, or you could keep the things for yourselves. Don't worry about it being very social - I often meet up with friends for what we call stitch and !!!!! - very often it ends up more !!!!!ing than stitching but we do have other times when we really stitch loads - depends what we all need at the time. Good luck with itMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Its official Sam is a girl - went to the vet friday for her first injection.
Only was on breifly yesterday - had a migranie floating about - really bad pain in my head.
Going to attempt to do some sewing now - but this little ball of black fluff is a distraction. She keeps jumping on the keyboard just now. Hubby still asleep from his night shift - then we will be off shopping.
Thanks for all your replys re: late hubby.
