    Wow Bubbles,
Have been missing in action (still haven't finished my April challenge!) and your story made me sit and think. I lost my mum to cancer and before she died I told her that everything I love in life, she taught me how to do it. I finished off 2 of her UFOs and they are so special to me. I also have her reciepe book and that makes me feel close to her too as does being in my garden. Mums are angels and now that I am a mummy I hope I will be like that to my 2 darling babies too. I have suffered from depression and just plodding on through a kit does keep you focused and give you a sense of achievement. I can really see where you are coming from. I used to do lots more but now my children and my job keep me too busy to do as much as I like, I tell myself that I should enjoy them now as I am sure I will have more time for me when they spread their wings. Keep stitching Bubbles! xxx

Ruth honey -ooh thank you will send you a pm. I bet QI was funny - I like Dara O'Brien - we went to see Rich Hall after seeing him loads on QI and he was brilliant - better than on the telly - he even smiles and laughs in real life as well doesnt seem as grumpy as on tv!! He is coming to the area again in September and wondering whether to get tickets or if it is likely to be the same sort of material as it was only jan/feb time.

I like Rich Hall too. Maybe his website might give more details on the tour contents? We've recently discovered that the Leicester Square comedy club has big comedians trying out new material there. We're seeing Michael McIntyre on June 1st and Bill Bailey on the 11th! :j Think the tickets are about £12-£14 each and the venue only holds about 400 people, so we'll be close to the front-in fact, front row at Bill Bailey...woo hoo!!! :T
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we've just decided that is a RUBBISH idea. the show will only manage 10 minutes :rotfl:(why do i always insist on clicking directly on the smile for that one - i actually hover the cureser until it rolls under it!!)

We think they should have a 30min pre-watershed show and an hour post watershed!! THEN see which rakes in most viewers.

(ooops just realised the last series was pre-watershed and the QI XL was the extended one - I thought it had lost its bite)

Forgot about the QI XL show. Must remember to add that to the planner instead. They filmed for over 2 hours last night & only had one tiny bit to re-do, so a lot of it will get cut. :( It's far more fun when they can be naughty. Oooh, I must check my camera and see if I managed to get any decent pics. Might have one of the cast, although the quality could be rubbish. Will post if it's ok...

lol oops and that was my mistake I was reading awsomes post in your county. DOH. I didn't think I'd seen one up there (plus monster in law needs to spend 2hours in ours when she comes down. ) I was hoping Kendal or somewhere had opened one that'd make monster-in-law trips more pleasing for me :D You guys might come out the dark ages soon :p

Not likely, lol i think more shops are closing than opening, why do you think i live on internet shopping :rotfl:

    Lol sounds like round here!!

nope, I did it as 2 posts then copied the 2nd one into the 1st!

Ahh very clever! And about the story....
I must admit I cried reading it, I think you are so brave writing it all down and opening up like you have, you are a real inspiration :) and I think I speak for many people out there when I say a big 'thank you' xxx

And as for the treble clef if you really aren't enjoying it then maybe starting something else is the best idea? You are stitching to take your mind off things and it makes you happy if the treble clef is making you frustrated then maybe just put it somewhere safe and go back to it at a later point?

Ill have my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow, that doctors note really should make them stop and think.

As for the three designs..The house one would be a good idea as they probably all will be different anyway

    Congratulations Aunty Louise :j :j

Chickywiggle Do the stitch stash one and the house :D*covers head and ears and waits to be hit and shouted at*

As for my stitching today ive done none! :o been busy doing things for my OH's mom and ive got to learn how to ice names on a cake before sunday i don't think it will be easy as my hands shake loads :( but im going to give it a good go, wish me luck :)

Bubbles-Well done for sharing your story. It's a huge thing to put it into writing, yet along share it in a magazine. I hope they do publish it as then you'll get some goodies too!
Everyone brings joy-Stitching on linen was quite fiddly and did slow me down. It would look good stitched on evenweave too, but as it was our 8th wedding anniversary (linen is on the modern gift list for 8th) I decided it had to be stitched on linen. I won't be using it often, though!
I know I've offered before, but can I please send you some evenweave to experiment with? I have plenty of small pieces, so it's no trouble to send some to you.
Here's my June challenge for you to add to the list-thanks!
No 27 Ruth Honey wants to complete the square for the quilt (I'm stitching the letter F, I believe)
I've got a busy month next month as it's my 30th birthday, so I don't think I'll get much stitching done. I'll be away the week of my birthday-Center Parcs with some friends :j-and have lots of other little things booked up too. The priority is the quilt square, but if I get chance to stitch something else, it'll be a bonus. Might try and do some of the Crisp Afternoon, or maybe go smaller and work on another UFO.

Sweetcarer-Forgot to say before that your kitten is gorgeous!!! If you want a cat sitter, I'm available! I'll even put my stitching out of temptations way so that I can play with him (or is it a 'her'? Lucky the name Sam is suitable for either!)
How is your Mum doing, by the way? Oh! Just noticed your post in another window saying she's come out of hospital. Send her our love!

*Louise*-Happy 1st anniversary to you for tomorrow! Hope you and your husband have a wonderful day!

MrsM-Where are you??? Getting worried now as you haven't posted here in a little while-feels like AGES! Hope you're OK. :)

Had a call from a friend this morning to tell me she's 8 weeks pregnant! I know I've said I'm not stitching stuff for other people, but I already have a Somebunny to Love toy in my stash. I think he's got a waistcoat or bib you stitch on. Thought I'd do that for her as the girl I'd planned to do it for hasn't been in touch with me since October!

Anyway, I'm off to bed as my eyes are feeling reeeealllly heavy! Night girls! xxx
