Evening folks,
Hope you are all well and big Zen hugs to all those who need or want them, especially Bubbles (sorry to read that they are messing you about)!
I've been lurking and not posting, but I have been stitching, I promise. I'm not going to post my zebra UFO until Bank Holiday so that the visible difference of my May challenge will be as visible as possible
However, I started my John Clayton Fuchsia panel on 2 May so this is my current WIP (as opposed to my UFO).
I started at the centre and am working my way up to the top of the panel. The photo shows the full width of the panel (4 and a quarter inches) and about 2 inches in length (full thing is 12 inches in length). I am enjoying it and you can see the flowers coming through already, but there is some blending and that is a painI couldn't use a loop start so tried a waste knot - third time lucky
The wretched threads knotted themselves twice so I had to cut them, unpick and start again. In the end I ran them through Thread Heaven and that seems to have done the trick. Has anyone any other ideas that might solve this problem?
As for my June challenge, well that will be my Y square for the great quilt caper.
Everybody's work is looking so good and its so nice to have more light to work in, although it was a bit too hot for me this past weekend.
All the best to you all for Bank Holiday Monday and the completion of your May challenges.
Cheers,
RoWhen the going gets tough, the tough eat chocolate!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No. 150 -
Bubbles Sorry you're having a rubbish day, seems like they're all messing you around, hugs are on there way to you... On the plus side the Treble Clef is looking lovely, the colours are really pretty
23rdSpiral The multi quote thing is a bit of a pain, I hoped they might have made it more than 3 too
Lol Chickywiggle I like the sound of that design alreadyMy OH looked over and asked what it said, I told him and he laughed and said thats great :rotfl:
Oh no Dorastar!!!! You really aren't having a good day either are you! Our car needs fixing but it can wait at the second and 'summer hibernate' on the driveI hope yours doesn't cost too much to fix.
Well I made a start...a very small start on my 'in love' design this evening, got it all ready and did a few stitches0 -

I'm still here and stitching my 'Old Friends Brighten Our Days' cushion, it won't be anywhere near finished for challenge, as I predicted, so my June challenge becomes:
June
No 19: kezbabybabe To finish the letter 'B' for the Great Quilt Idea and to continue with 'Old Friends Brighten Our Days' cushion.
I'll pass on the 'stash' stitch, as I've got plenty that I want to catch up with for now.
I do love these long warm evenings, just wish my bench was a lot more comfy though :rotfl: Unfortunately as a result of the warm weather my kitchen is under siege from ants., that's a tiny thing compared to the stress some of you are under, so a :grouphug: for you all.

I finished stitching it about 5pm today. Not had time to frame it as DH gets home at 6pm and I needed to have a quick bath.
He's decided as we're out all day tomorrow, we should exchange cards & gifts tonight. He's bought me a lovely bronzed glass heart necklace. Sooo pretty! Also a little 'Wife' token thingy to keep in my bag/pocket/etc. Off to find a gift bag to put the stitching in now. Hope he likes it...:)Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
