    Hi all

Mind if I join you?? I've been following the thread on here for a while and have cross stitched on and off for about 14 years - that makes me feel old!

I've just finished a football cross stitch for DS1 and now feel that I will need the support of this group for my next project - a sepia picture of George Michael. I'm a huge fan and found the kit on ebay a couple of years ago. I've just started it this afternoon and all the colours are beige-ish on a cream aida  I've stitched a whole section of his cheek so far and can't see any of it from a distance! I'm not sure I'll be able to post photos of my progress until there are some darker colours on there.

I'm hoping it goes well because I've also found this on ebay from the same company:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOYZONE-full-counted-cross-stitch-kit-Stephen-Gately-/400117053923?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_CrossStitch_RL&hash=item5d28d5b9e3

and would like to stitch it for my friend's 40th birthday - which isn't until 2016 and I might have finished the George Michael one by then :rotfl: I'm only going to do it if this one turns out OK though.

    Wish me luck...

ohhh thats a good idea......or should we start with christmas or "winterval" as sheffield council renamed it - as we are part way thro year??

:rotfl:winterval!! :rotfl:whats wrong with good ole Yule?! if you cant call it xmas?? oh my. oh dear!

T4mof welcome :) hope your design goes well, it will be lovely to see pics

Dorastar, as far as I can remember Witchwoopiggy has it spot on :) And fingers crossed you get home ok tomorrow!

Sweetcarer sam is lovely! Give him a cuddle and kiss from me and my kitties :)

I think pairing up for birthdays as well as christmas would be nice, my birthday has just gone but i personally don't mind waiting, ill enjoy doing a card and a little something for someone else. And the secret Santa idea also sounds good.

Does anyone know of any card designs for special birthdays? There is a small party this weekend at the caravan site where my OH's parents stay... its a few peoples big birthdays.. 80, 70 and 60 and I thought it might be nice to do them all a stitched card each but I don't think I have any suitable designs

Ericsmum I can see why you liked doing the'sunshine' one so much, the colours are lovely and bright, i bet it took you a while its got a lot of detail.

You're also coming along nicely with your peacock, its nice to see pics of the progress, you stitch quickly :)

Ive finished my first quilt square, I think ill do the second one later this week or next, I really want to start on my 'in love' picture but ive got the lovequilts square to finish too.....now which first??...
