ok does anyone elses page look different? or is it just mine computer has been playing up so just thought i would check lol

I think the forum has been revamped.
Been busy stitching on my 'Everyone Brings Joy'. Anniversary is tomorrow, so I have to finish it today!!! I'm doing ok, though. I have most of 'EVERYONE' to stitch, and the button to add, plus backstitching 'TO THIS' then I think I'm done. I don't think I'll have time to even find a frame for it, yet alone put it into a frame, but that's ok.
Right, quick bite to eat & a coffee, then back to it...

    Hi everyone

Im having a crap day today. I feel really sick which is probably the best part! Open University got my forms a day late so now I cant start my course until September and I have to fill in all of the forms again. It took me days in the first place which is why they were late! They make the whole enrollment process so complicated which is why the forms were late in the first place! And the second bit of bad news, despite me telling welfare rights in March when my tribunal was they phoned me this morning, 3 days before, telling me they are double booked so cant represent me. I phoned trying to change the date but the tribunal service wont let me so I have to go and ask for an adjournment. Im crapping myself.

As for stitching, this treble clef is SOOOOO hard! Its impossible to make the back stitch out and every single thing is back stitched. Here is where I am up to. I also think maybe I should have stitched with 3 strands as the background shows a little:

    Hi all

Mind if I join you?? I've been following the thread on here for a while and have cross stitched on and off for about 14 years - that makes me feel old!

I've just finished a football cross stitch for DS1 and now feel that I will need the support of this group for my next project - a sepia picture of George Michael. I'm a huge fan and found the kit on ebay a couple of years ago. I've just started it this afternoon and all the colours are beige-ish on a cream aida  I've stitched a whole section of his cheek so far and can't see any of it from a distance! I'm not sure I'll be able to post photos of my progress until there are some darker colours on there.

I'm hoping it goes well because I've also found this on ebay from the same company:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOYZONE-full-counted-cross-stitch-kit-Stephen-Gately-/400117053923?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_CrossStitch_RL&hash=item5d28d5b9e3

and would like to stitch it for my friend's 40th birthday - which isn't until 2016 and I might have finished the George Michael one by then :rotfl: I'm only going to do it if this one turns out OK though.

    Wish me luck...

Welcome to the thread, and an extra special welcome because you love George Michael - me too!!! I went to see him twice on the last tour, was there the first night and cried when he came on as I never thought I would see him live! I cant wait to see how you get on with stitching him. I have got a pattern of frank sinatra in cross stitcher magazine which Im hoping to attempt soon. Anyway, welcome!

    Linda :j

Thats lovely, bet it was nice to stitch with it being so bright.

Spotty Butterfly can you pm me your email address again. I added you to my address book but when I just went in since I had a virus it seems to have saved every single email address that has emailed me so trying to find one specifc is a nightmare! Thanks for the offer of threads, Im not keen on the stitch n stash design so gonna try and find an alternative which will take about the same amount of time so people can have a choice.

Mags cat I love your afgan, I considered stitching one for my neighbours who are having a baby, then I saw how expensive they are! lol

Hmm just seen my May challenge and might need to revise it to

"try not to go off the wall at incompetent garage mechanics and dh whose car has just shuddered to a halt while mine is in bits at the garage still and is going to cost the best part of an arm and several legs - and maybe do some stitching when blood pressure has dropped to reasonable level"

    ohh nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i always laugh whenever anyone takes my blood pressure as it is "perfect". how can it be when DS has had me tearing my hair out for hours before hand.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Hey Bubbles, i hope you feel better soon. i'm sorry to hear they've messed you about. i dont know anything about that but i'm shocked if not entirely surprised that they can do this to you.

Thanks for sorting the list out. Can't seem to see JUNE though. I'm gonna add a May challenge for me too, i didnt think i'd have time but as i'm about 1/3 through the push might help.

Also perhaps it would help if we wrote our challenges out neatly in your format for you to easily copy and paste?

    May
No 23: 23rdspiral to start and finish the 'patchwork' heart that Ali.123 sent me the chart for.

    June
No 23: 23rdspiral to start and finish the I of the charity quilt before I go to Glastonbury Festival!! (or finish it quickly when i get back!)

Stash Team Stitch: hey bubbles that's a really nice idea of you to look out a different design for those who dont want to stitch this 'team' one. i cant even remeber what it looked like, or if ive even seen it, but it sounds very appropriate for me. do you still have my email?

Update: i've done some more on the patchwork heart sitting in the fading sun and it was lovely. looked up after a few minutes and it had been an hour and needed to get dinner on in a hurry! oopsie! :o

ALI.1.2.3, or anyone else - can i ask what colour the 'cresent moon shape' on the legend is suposed to be?!? it's pale and we've already got white and cream on the go... so grey maybe? i had a look at your blog Ali and see that you did it dark green. i'm considering french blue (colour of my kitchen cupoards) but it's suposed to be DMC 3840 or Anchor 130 - can anyone help?!

oh, and about the 'redecorating'... at the top it asks for any comments. so this is what i've just said:

"hi, i quite like the green and like that you put so much time and effort in the boards. we are all thankful for that!

I've noticed one thing that will irritate me though - the colour change on the multi-quote is barely visable. the background goes from blue to green but it's impossible to see really. especially if you are scrolling up and down.

i'm a keen participant on several quite fast moving threads, and the multiquote makes keeping track of who i'm responding to possible. i havent tried to see if you now allow more than 3, but either way the colour change NEEDS to be more visable.

    thanks! "

    just thought i'd say.
