My monster-in-law was going to make us a patchwork quilt - she sows for a living/ career - when we moved into our 1st house together.................... that was in 2005........ and I don't think there are even 2 squares for it yet!! :D

    Evening all,

I've just had to google knitted necklaces and 3D cross stitch cards. I'd never seen either of them before. Wow I'm impressed please can we have piccies of both, I'd love to see them.

:T NMM and Bubbles, your UFOs are looking great. So close now. . . c'mon you can do it :j

So nice to hear about all the lovely hubbies. I too am lucky, my OH is great. He's really supportive and cheers me on like you guys do.

 Here's a beer for all the OHs who are probably feeling a bit neglected on the last week of the challenge (something they will probably have to get used to :rotfl:)
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

And this is the end of the April challange (minuas backstitch)

It looks ok - but a bit concerned it'll look toooooooooo yellow (not looking very cotlike at the mo). Fingers crossed I've not messed up big time changing the colours.

oooh, oooh, oooh, I've started the 2nd vest. Challenge complete. Woohoo.

Not part of the challenge but I'm going to visit new baby again Friday, would be lovely if I could finish it and take it with me then. (Though that is a bit optimistic but it's not nearly as big as the other one).

May Challenge is: Finish Toby's vest, finish Humphreys Corner stitching for Kezia, and get back to the Christmas stocking. Also fairly ambitious but you lot are spurring me on.

The patchwork is english paper piece style (if that's the right term for it) did have a go at somewhen I was a teenager but messed it up cos I took all the paper out way too soon and it went rubbish (technical term there) Then am going to put it onto a cushion cover I have yet to make! Would love to make my kids patchwork throws for when they leave home, they are only 8 and 3 at the moment so I have a few years yet and want to try different methods till I find one I like

:) i like patchwork. i can be really really thrify with fabric and not look miserly!:D let me know what shapes you're thinking of, i've links to some great print and cut templates/ advice ect that might help. i've recently started a 1" hexagon english paper piecing project. i'd like it to be a 'charm quilt', so that means about 1178 Different Patterened Hexies!! I've based about 30 so far, and have fabric waiting to do another 50 or so... so we'll see how far i get! ~ perhaps a few cushions would be more managable!! :rotfl:

:rotfl: i havent quite finished one i started 7 years ago, but the tying on of 80 small buttons just seemed too big and boring a task! :o but i bought 50 last week, so aim to finish it, so perhaps there's hope for your 1st house quilt too?

    Bravo Harley!!
i think you deserve one or two of the following: :coffee: or  :D

April Challenge Update: I've finished too!! :D :j
The kitchen motto is done, as are the little pictures around it that i'd planned on doing :D . My other half went out last night so although i had other things to do that were 'technically' more urgent, finishing the Xstitch first seemed the best idea :D:D. I'll post a photo when i've found my camera.

I made the mistake of venturing into a different part of MSE yesterday, posting about a dog that was killed at pets at home in the pets board and got my words mised up, instead of writing baked I wrote burnt and someone on there took it up and started talking to me like I am 3. Am now sitting here in tears and cant stop crying. Does it really matter so much that I got the words mixed up, either way the dog is still dead which made me feel bad enough and now I feel terrible for posting to stop it happening to anyone else. Just days ago my mum showed me a article about people feeling like they were picked on on forums and I said never on MSE. I was wrong. Again apparently.

Yay Bubbles - we normally go to Harrogate as well in November, am already saving up for it!

If I manage harrogate and we are there on the same day we will have to meet up and compare purchases! I will only be able to go if I'm working by then though. Benefits arent enough to live on never mind luxuries!

So this is where i was

As people kept saying to me it might change when its finished. Im having a similar problem, I changed the colours of the flowers on my angels border and did a whole section complete only to decide I didnt like them so going to unpick them.

_party_:dance: :kisses: congrats harley, have added your new challenge to the list and your party has commenced!

So glad I had wrote the replies of this post before going to the pet forum or you would have got no sense. Going to sit in a corner and cry now.
